Agnieszka Holland
Agnieszka Holland (born 28 November 1948) is a Polish film and television director and screenwriter, best known for her political contributions to Polish cinema. She began her career as assistant to directors Krzysztof Zanussi and Andrzej Wajda, and emigrated to France shortly before the 1981 imposition of the martial law in Poland. Holland is best known for her films ''Europa Europa'' (1990), for which she received an Academy Award for Best Adapted Screenplay nomination, and '' The Secret Garden'' (1993), as well as ''Angry Harvest'' and the Holocaust drama '' In Darkness'', both of which were nominated for the Academy Award for Best Foreign Language Film. Sławomir Idziak
Sławomir Idziak (; born 25 January 1945) is a Polish cinematographer and director who has worked on over forty Polish and foreign films. He is especially known for his collaboration with director Krzysztof Kieślowski as well as Ridley Scott and David Yates. In 2019, the American Society of Cinematographers included '' Three Colours: Blue'' shot by Idziak on the list of the best-photographed films of the 20th century. Life and career Idziak was born on 25 January 1945 in Katowice, Poland. In 1969, he graduated from the National Film School in Łódź. Jeremy Thomas
Jeremy Jack Thomas, CBE (born 26 July 1949) is a British film producer, founder and chairman of Recorded Picture Company. He produced Bernardo Bertolucci's ''The Last Emperor'', which won the 1988 Academy Award for Best Picture. In 2006 he received a European Film Award for Outstanding European Achievement in World Cinema. His father was director Ralph Thomas (director of many of the ''Doctor'' films), while his uncle Gerald Thomas directed all of the films in the ''Carry On'' franchise. Life and career Thomas was born in London, England into a filmmaking family with his father, Ralph Philip Thomas, and uncle, Gerald, both directors. His childhood ambition was to work in cinema. Jerzy Skolimowski (, born 5 May 1938) is a Polish film director, screenwriter, dramatist and actor. A graduate of the prestigious National Film School in Łódź, Skolimowski has directed more than twenty films since his 1960 début ''Oko wykol'' (''The Menacing Eye''). In 1967 he was awarded the Golden Bear prize for his film '' Le départ''. Among his other notable films is '' Deep End'' (1970), starring Jane Asher and John Moulder Brown. He lived in Los Angeles for over 20 years where he painted in a figurative, expressionist mode and occasionally acted in films.
