Polish Film Award, or Eagle ( pl, Polska Nagroda Filmowa, „Orzeł”) is a film awards ceremony given annually since 1999, with the first event held on 21 June, by the National Chamber of Audiovisual Producers (KIPA). Since 2003 they are given out by the Polish Film Academy. Their status in the Polish film industry can be compared with Academy Awards. Wojciech Szczęsny Marczewski (born 28 February 1944) is a Polish film director and screenwriter. He directed twelve films between 1968 and 2001. Edges Of The Lord
''Edges of the Lord'' is a 2001 film, written and directed by Yurek Bogayevicz, starring Willem Dafoe and Haley Joel Osment. The film, set in Poland during World War II, tells the story of a wealthy Jewish boy who must pose as a Catholic peasant farmland local in order to avoid capture from Nazi forces. Plot Romek (Haley Joel Osment) is the son of a wealthy Jewish couple. When the Nazis invade Poland, the family contacts an old friend and tasks him to hide their son. During this plight, Romek poses as the Catholic nephew of a local farmer (Olaf Lubaszenko), with the aid of a compassionate Catholic priest (Willem Dafoe). Despite his Jewish upbringing, Romek quickly learns of the Catholic traditions and manages to apply them. Bronisław Maj
Bronisław Maj (born 19 November 1953) is a Polish poet, essayist, translator and academic. Biography Maj attended Jan Kasprowicz High School in Łódź. He later graduated in Polish philology from the Jagiellonian University in Kraków and there he obtained his Ph.D. in the humanities. He published his debut poem in 1970 and debut poetry book in 1980. In 1984 he received the Kościelski Award for the poetry book ''Wspólne powietrze'' (''The Common Air''). In his poems Maj often focuses on the metaphysical topics, though he avoids writing classical religious poetry. Maj is also a stage performer. He created and performed several times as a character called Pani Lola (Mrs Lola). He has written the lyrics for several songs by Grzegorz Turnau. Currently he lives and works in Kraków.
