Polina Shchennikova
Polina Aleksandrovna Shchennikova (Russian: Полина Александровна Шенникова (born January 7, 1998) is a former Russian-American artistic gymnast. She was a member of the U.S. National team from 2012 to 2013. Polina was born to Russian parents Katia and Aleksandr Shchennikov, and moved to Colorado at the age of 8. Both her parents competed as gymnasts for the Soviet National Team. Polina competed at the US National Championships in 2013 as a junior and in 2015 as a senior. In 2015, Shchennikova committed to the Michigan Wolverines women's gymnastics program. She was Freshman of the year at the University of Michigan and later went on to become the student assistant coach for the gymnastics team. United States Women's National Gymnastics Team
The United States women's national artistic gymnastics team represents the United States in FIG international competitions. Currently, the U.S. team is the reigning World team champion and the reigning Olympic team silver medalists, with the four gymnasts nicknamed the "Fighting Four". History The U.S. women won the team competition bronze medal at the 1948 Summer Olympics. Michigan Wolverines Women's Gymnastics
The Michigan Wolverines women's gymnastics team represents the University of Michigan and competes in the Big Ten Conference. Under head coach Bev Plocki, the team has won 25 Big Ten championships and advanced to 25 NCAA Women's Gymnastics Championships, including sixteen consecutive appearances from 1993 to 2008. In 2021, the Wolverines won the program's first-ever team national title. History The Michigan Wolverines women's gymnastics team was formed in 1976. Dominic Zito (born June 13, 1982) is an American choreographer. He is the National Team choreographer for USA Gymnastics and has worked with gymnasts, including Olympians, such as Jordyn Wieber, Kyla Ross, Gabby Douglas, Simone Biles, Dominique Moceanu and Elise Ray. Early life and career Dominic Zito was born on June 13, 1982 in Ohio. In 1989, at the age of seven, he started gymnastics training. In 1995, he started choreographing routines for a local gymnastics club after they couldn't afford to hire a professional choreographer. After numerous free routines in his area, his talent began to get recognized. Zito decided to quit gymnastics and graduated from Solon High School in 2000.
