PoliPoint Press (or P3Books) was a San Francisco Bay Area publishing company that was founded to print the writings of University of Phoenix founder John Sperling. In 2004 it published its first book, Sperling's ''The Great Divide'', a book of essays and full-color illustrations arguing that the Democratic Party, in order to retake the United States presidency, must abandon efforts in the allegedly culturally backwards "red states." The company was brought into being to "bring new ideas and perspectives into the body politic, to ignite dialogue," according to publisher Scott Jordan, a former publicist for the Saudi Arabian government. Presently he is a Schwartz Senior Fellow at the New America Foundation, and he formerly worked as a senior writer and deputy assistant managing editor at ''U.S. News & World Report''. Reese Erlich (July 5, 1947 – April 6, 2021) was an American author and freelance journalist who wrote for CBS Radio, Australian Broadcasting Corp., and National Public Radio. He also contributed to Foreign Policy and VICE News. He wrote the nationally distributed Foreign Correspondent column. Erlich won numerous journalism awards including a Peabody. Norman Solomon (born July 7, 1951) is an American journalist, media critic, activist, and former U.S. congressional candidate. Solomon is a longtime associate of the media watch group Fairness & Accuracy In Reporting (FAIR). In 1997 he founded the Institute for Public Accuracy, which works to provide alternative sources for journalists, and serves as its executive director.
