Poland Women's National Rugby Sevens Team
The Poland women's national rugby sevens team represents Poland in rugby sevens. They compete in the Rugby Europe Women's Sevens. History Poland placed second overall at the 2021 Rugby Europe Women's Sevens Championship Series. They helped Kazakhstan women's national rugby sevens team, Kazakhstan prepare for the Olympic qualifiers. Poland qualified for the 2022 Rugby World Cup Sevens in Cape Town after winning one of four available spots at the 2022 Rugby World Cup Sevens Women's European Qualifier, European Qualifiers in Bucharest. The team then won the silver medal at the 2023 European Games, qualifying for the final 2024 Summer Olympics play off tournament. The Rugby Europe Women's Sevens, previously the FIRA–AER Women's Sevens until 2013, is a series of regional championships for women's international rugby sevens in Europe. Prior to 2012, the annual tournament is held over two days, typically on a weekend in June, before the highest category tournament was reorganized as the Sevens Grand Prix Series, modeled after the format of the World Rugby Sevens Series. Rugby World Cup Sevens (RWCS) is the quadrennial world championship of rugby sevens, a variant of rugby union. Organised by World Rugby, it currently consists of men's and women's tournaments, and is the highest level of competition in the sport outside of the Summer Olympics. The first tournament was held in 1993 in Scotland, and was won by England. The winners of the men's tournament are awarded the Melrose Cup, named after the Scottish town of Melrose where the first rugby sevens game was played. A women's tournament was introduced at the 2009 Rugby World Cup Sevens in Dubai, and was first won by Australia. After the 2013 Rugby World Cup Sevens, the tournament took an extended, five-year hiatus to allow the integration of rugby sevens at the Summer Olympics into the competitive calendar. 2024 Spain Sevens
The 2024 Spain Sevens or SVNS MAD is a rugby sevens tournament played at Metropolitano Stadium in Madrid. Sixteen men's and women's teams participated, of which eight teams participated in the Grand Finals and the other teams participated in the Core Team Qualifier for core team status and to participate on the 2025 HSBC World Rugby SVNS Series. Teams The top eight-placed teams from the first seven previous events in the 2023–24 SVNS series played in a Grand Final event. The teams placed between nine–twelve competed in a promotion/relegation-style event with the top four teams from the men's and women's Challenger Series to decide which teams stay as core teams.
