Poland In The Eurovision Song Contest 2018
Poland participated in the Eurovision Song Contest 2018 with the song "Light Me Up" written by Andrzej Gromala, Lukas Meijer, Mahan Moin and Christian Rabb. The song was performed by Gromee featuring Lukas Meijer. The Polish broadcaster Telewizja Polska (TVP) organised the national final ''Krajowe Eliminacje 2018'' in order to select the Polish entry for the 2018 contest in Lisbon, Portugal. The national final took place on 3 March 2018 and featured ten entries. "Light Me Up" performed by Gromee featuring Lukas Meijer was selected as the winner after gaining the most points following the combination of votes from a five-member jury panel and a public vote. Poland was drawn to compete in the second semi-final of the Eurovision Song Contest which took place on 10 May 2018. Performing in position 11, "Light Me Up" was not announced among the ten qualifying entries of the second semi-final and therefore did not qualify to compete in the final. Gromee
Andrzej Gromala (born 14 December 1978), better known by his stage name Gromee, is a Polish DJ, record producer, remixer and owner of Kingztown Music. In 2016 he signed a record deal with Sony Music. At the Eska Music Awards 2017 he won the award for Best DJ/Producer. He won the Poland in the Eurovision Song Contest 2018, Polish national final for the Eurovision Song Contest 2018 in Lisbon, Portugal. Together with Swedish singer Lukas Meijer, he represented his home country at the Eurovision Song Contest 2018 in Lisbon with the song "Light Me Up (Gromee song), Light Me Up" becoming the first DJ in history to perform at the Eurovision Song Contest. Paweł Stasiak, also known as Pablosson (born 19 November 1967), is a Polish singer. He is currently the lead singer of musical group Papa D, a revival of the band Papa Dance from the 1980s, of which he was also the lead singer. Biography As a child he was a member of musical group . Niklas Bergqvist (born 6 October 1962 in Stockholm), is a Swedish songwriter, producer and musician. His career started in 1984, as a founding member of the Synthpop band Shanghai, which he started along his school friends.
