Poland In The Eurovision Song Contest 2016
Poland participated in the Eurovision Song Contest 2016 with the song " Color of Your Life" written by Andy Palmer and Kamil Varen. The song was performed by Michał Szpak. The Polish broadcaster Telewizja Polska (TVP) first announced in October 2015 that the Polish entry for the 2016 contest in Stockholm, Sweden would be selected through an internal selection. However, the broadcaster later decided to organise the national final ''Krajowe Eliminacje 2016'' in order to select the Polish entry. The national final took place on 5 March 2016 and featured nine entries. "Color of Your Life" performed by Michał Szpak was selected as the winner after gaining 35.89% of the public vote. Poland was drawn to compete in the second semi-final of the Eurovision Song Contest which took place on 12 May 2016. Michał Szpak
Michał Szpak (born 26 November 1990) is a Polish singer who found fame on the inaugural season of the Polish ''X Factor'' in 2011. On 12 May 2016, Szpak represented Poland at the Eurovision Song Contest 2016 in Stockholm, Sweden with the song " Color of Your Life". Early life Michał was born in Jasło, a small town in southern Poland. His older sister Marlena is an Opera singer born from his father Andrzej Szpak's first marriage. After the split, father Szpak got married for the second time, from this relationship was born Damian, Michał, and Ewa. The couple split when Michał was 10. Donatan, (born Witold Marek Czamara on 2 September 1984 in Kraków) is a Polish musician, music producer and sound engineer. Donatan along with Teka co-created RafPak. Life and career Donatan was born to a Russian mother and Polish father. He began producing music in 2002, with his debut album "Brudne południe", released in 2007. For eight years Donatan lived in Taganrog, Rostov Oblast, Russia, and has been married since 2004. Donatan is a self-declared adherent of Slavic Native Faith and has often been criticized for allegedly preaching pan-Slavism, paganism, satanism, recommending the Red Army, and promoting communist symbols including the hammer and sickle. TVP1 (TVP Jeden, ''Program I Telewizji Polskiej'', ''"Jedynka"'') is the main public television channel of TVP (Telewizja Polska S.A.), Poland's national television broadcaster. She represented Poland in the Eurovision Song Contest 2015 with the song " In the Name of Love" and was previously the lead singer of the Polish pop rock band Varius Manx.
