Poland In The Eurovision Song Contest 2011
Poland participated in the Eurovision Song Contest 2011 with the song "Jestem" written and performed by Magdalena Tul. The Polish broadcaster Telewizja Polska (TVP) organised the national final ''Krajowe Eliminacje 2011'' in order to select the Polish entry for the 2011 contest in Düsseldorf, Germany. The national final took place on 14 February 2011 and featured ten entries. "Jestem" performed by Magdalena Tul was selected as the winner after gaining the most votes from the public with 59,984 votes. Poland was drawn to compete in the first semi-finals of the Eurovision Song Contest which took place on 10 May 2011. Performing as the opening entry for the show in position 1, "Jestem" was not announced among the top 10 entries of the first semi-final and therefore did not qualify to compete in the final. Magdalena Tul
Magdalena Ewa Tul (born 29 April 1980) is a Polish singer and composer. In 2000 she moved from Gdańsk to Warsaw where she started working as a singer and actress for Studio Buffo, a musical theater. She performed there as a lead singer in ''Metro''. Three years later, she started working with another musical theater, Roma. She performed there in the musicals ''Miss Saigon'', '' Grease'', ''Cats'' and ''Academy of Mister Kleks''. TVP1 (TVP Jeden, ''Program I Telewizji Polskiej'', ''"Jedynka"'') is the main public television channel of TVP (Telewizja Polska S.A.), Poland's national television broadcaster. Zosia Karbowiak (born 15 October 1980), known professionally as ZoSia (stylized with uppercase "S"), is a Polish singer-songwriter. Although they disbanded soon after, Cugowski and Romuald Lipko reformed the band in 1974 and were active until 2014. Ada Fijał
Ada Fijał (born 20 October 1976) is a Polish television actor and singer. She was unsuccessful in a bid to represent Poland in the Eurovision Song Contest in 2011. She did appear in the Polish version of ''Dancing with the Stars''. Life Fijał was born in 1976 in Kraków. She first qualified in dentistry at Jagiellonian University Medical College in Kraków before training in acting and performing. In 2008 she joined the Polish soap "Barwy szczęścia" (Colours of Happiness) and she and the soap were going strong in 2019. In 2011 she was a contestant to represent Poland in the Eurovision Song Contest singing "Hot like Fire". She noted that she was not a singer,. she came 6th. Fijał appeared in the 16th season of Taniec z Gwiazdami. This is the Polish version of "Dancing with the Stars". OGAE
The (OGAE) () is a non-governmental and non-profit international organisation, consisting of 42 Eurovision Song Contest fan clubs from across Europe and beyond. It was founded in 1984 in Savonlinna, Finland by Jaripekka Koikkalainen. Four non-profit competitions are organised by the OGAE every year to promote national popular music to Eurovision fans around the world. Sopot International Song Festival
The Sopot International Song Festival or Sopot Festival (later called ''Sopot Music Festival Grand Prix'', ''Sopot Top of the Top Festival'' from 2012–13 and ''Polsat Sopot Festival'' in 2014) is an annual international song contest held in Sopot, Poland. It is the biggest Polish music festival altogether with the National Festival of Polish Song in Opole, and one of the biggest song contests in Europe.
