Poland In The Eurovision Song Contest 2003
Poland participated in the Eurovision Song Contest 2003 with the song "Keine Grenzen – Żadnych granic" written by André Franke, Joachim Horn-Bernges, Michał Wiśniewski and Jacek Łągwa. The song was performed by the band Ich Troje. The Polish broadcaster Telewizja Polska (TVP) returned to the Eurovision Song Contest after a one-year absence following their withdrawal in 2002 as one of the bottom six countries in the 2001 contest. TVP organised the national final ''Krajowe Eliminacje do Konkursu Piosenki Eurowizji 2003'' in order to select the Polish entry for the 2003 contest in Riga, Latvia. The national final took place on 25 January 2003 and featured fourteen entries. "Keine Grenzen – Żadnych granic" performed by Ich Troje was selected as the winner after gaining 31.8% of the public vote. Ich Troje
Ich Troje ("The Three of Them") is a Polish pop band. Ich Troje was founded in 1996 by songwriter Michał Wiśniewski and composer Jacek Łągwa. Since 2000, Ich Troje has been one of the most successful Polish groups. They have sold more than 1.5 million records since June 2001. Their songs are typically about love, betrayal and break-ups. TVP Polonia
TVP Polonia (formerly known as TV Polonia) is the international channel of the Telewizja Polska (TVP). The channel is co-funded by the TVP and the Polish Ministry for Foreign Affairs and broadcasts from the TVP headquarters in Warsaw. Varius Manx
Varius Manx is a Polish pop group, formed in Łódź in 1989 by composer Robert Janson. The name is a variation on the English word "various" plus Manx, the variety of cat. The band have sold more than 2 million albums in their native Poland. The band's first album, ''The Beginning'', which consisted entirely of instrumental music, was released in 1990 to measured success. The 1993 follow-up ''The New Shape'', featured vocals by Janson, Robert Amirian, and guests including Edyta Bartosiewicz. The band's breakthrough was its 1994 album ''Emu'', which marked a stark change in artistic direction. The band now had a lead singer, Anita Lipnicka, and now performed primarily in Polish. Małgorzata "Gosia" Andrzejewicz (born 14 January 1984) is a Polish singer. She debuted in 2004 and has since earned major hits in Poland, like "Pozwól żyć", " Słowa" and "Trochę ciepła". Robert Janson (born June 7, 1965 in Czeladź) is a Polish composer, singer, guitarist, leader and co-founder of pop band Varius Manx. He is a member of Polish Society of the Phonographic Industry. In 1989, Robert Janson formed Varius Manx with the Marciniak brothers, Michał and Paweł. After Anita Lipnicka joined and the album ''Emu'' was released in 1994, the group became famous in Poland. Piotr Rubik (Polish pronunciation: ; born 3 September 1968 in Warsaw) is a Polish composer of symphonic music, symphonic pop music for orchestra, film and theatre as well as conductor (music), conductor, music producer and vocalist. He gained nationwide popularity in the mid-2000s with the success of his songs ''Niech mówią, że to nie jest miłość'' (2005) and ''Psalm dla Ciebie'' (2006). Biography Rubik learned to play the cello from the age of 7, went on to a musical secondary school, and then studied at the Fryderyk Chopin Academy of Music in Warsaw. Sopot International Song Festival
The Sopot International Song Festival or Sopot Festival (later called ''Sopot Music Festival Grand Prix'', ''Sopot Top of the Top Festival'' from 2012–13 and ''Polsat Sopot Festival'' in 2014) is an annual international song contest held in Sopot, Poland. It is the biggest Polish music festival altogether with the National Festival of Polish Song in Opole, and one of the biggest song contests in Europe. The contest was organised and transmitted live by the public Polish Television (TVP) between 1994 and 2004.
