''Pokémon 4Ever – Celebi: Voice of the Forest'' is a 2001 Japanese anime film directed by Kunihiko Yuyama and based on the television series ''Pokémon''. The fourth official ''Pokémon'' film, it was released in Japan on July 7, 2001. The film was directed in Japan by Kunihiko Yuyama and written by Hideki Sonoda. It stars the regular television cast of Rica Matsumoto, Ikue Ōtani, Mayumi Iizuka, Yūji Ueda, Megumi Hayashibara and Shin-ichiro Miki. The events of the film take place during '' Pokémon: Johto League Champions''. The English adaption of the film was released on October 11, 2002, in the United States, produced by 4Kids Entertainment and distributed by then-Disney subsidiary Miramax Films, which would take over from Warner Bros. starting with this film. Kunihiko Yuyama
is a Japanese director best known for his work on the ''Pokémon'' anime franchise. He also directed ''Magical Princess Minky Momo'', '' Leda: The Fantastic Adventure of Yohko'', ''The Three Musketeers Anime'', ''Ushio and Tora'', '' Kimagure Orange Road: Summer's Beginning'', ''Plawres Sanshiro'', ''Slayers Return'', ''Slayers Great'', and ''Wedding Peach''. Ash Ketchum, known as in Japan, is a fictional character in the '' Pokémon'' franchise owned by Nintendo. He is the protagonist of the ''Pokémon'' anime and certain manga series as well as on various merchandise related to the franchise. In Japanese, the character is voiced by Rika Matsumoto. Celebi (Pokémon)
is a Pokémon species in Nintendo and Game Freak's '' Pokémon'' franchise and one of the Mythical Pokémon. Created by Ken Sugimori, it first appeared in the video games ''Pokémon Gold'' and ''Silver'' and later appeared in various merchandise, spinoff titles and animated and printed adaptations of the franchise. Madeleine Joan Blaustein (born Adam Blaustein, October 9, 1960 – December 11, 2008), also known as Kendra Bancroft, was an American voice actress and comic writer who was known for her voice acting work for 4Kids Entertainment, DuArt Film and Video and NYAV Post, for her reprising role as the character Meowth from the ''Pokémon'' anime series and for comics written for Milestone Comics, in which she introduced one of superhero comics' first transgender female characters.
