Giuseppe Vari (9 March 1924 – 1 October 1993) was an Italian film director, editor and screenwriter. Life and career Born in Segni, Rome, Vari started his career as an editor of films and documentaries, collaborating among others with Federico Fellini, Damiano Damiani and Giorgio Simonelli. In 1953 he made his directorial debut with ''Infame accusa'', then specialized in melodramatic films. From the early sixties he focused on genre films, especially Spaghetti Westerns, sometimes being credited as Joseph Warren. Fernando Di Leo
Fernando Di Leo (11 January 1932 – 2 December 2003) was an Italian film director and screenwriter, script writer. He made 17 films as a director and about 50 scripts from 1964 to 1985. Biography Fernando Di Leo was born on 11 January 1932 in San Ferdinando di Puglia. After briefly working in a Rome's film school Centro Sperimentale di Cinematografia, di Leo made his debut as a director as part of the omnibus comedy ''Gli eroi di ieri, oggi, domani'' with his episode titled ''Un posto in paradiso'' (). Following this Di Leo wrote several scripts for Westerns, often uncredited. This included work on ''A Fistful of Dollars'' and ''For a Few Dollars More''. Some of his Westerns had uncredited literary sources, such as ''Days of Vengeance'' which as loosely based on Alexandre Dumas' ''The Count of Monte Cristo''. Lallo Gori (7 March 1927 – 1 December 1982) was an Italian composer and musician. Life and career Born in Cervia, Ravenna as Coriolano Gori, Gori graduated in piano, harmony and composition at the Giuseppe Verdi Conservatory in Turin. He entered RAI as a member of its orchestra, then he became the musical director of its office in Rome. Gori was best known as a composer of scores for films, and composed around 80 of them. These included several Spaghetti Westerns, poliziotteschis and thrillers, such as ''Primitive Love'', ''Massacre Time'', ''Dead Men Don't Make Shadows'', ''Werewolf Woman'' and ''The Iron Commissioner''. Spaghetti Western
The Spaghetti Western is a broad subgenre of Western films produced in Europe. It emerged in the mid-1960s in the wake of Sergio Leone's film-making style and international box-office success. The term was used by foreign critics because most of these Westerns were produced and directed by Italians. Leone's films and other core Spaghetti Westerns are often described as having eschewed, criticized, or even "demythologized" many of the conventions of traditional U.S. Westerns. This was partly intentional and partly the context of a different cultural background. Terminology According to veteran Spaghetti Western actor Aldo Sambrell, the phrase "Spaghetti Western" was coined by Spanish journalist Alfonso Sánchez in reference to the Italian food spaghetti. George Eastman (actor)
George Eastman (born Luigi Montefiori; August 16, 1942) is an Italian actor and screenwriter well known for his frequent collaborations with notorious director Joe D'Amato. He is most famous for his role as the insane, cannibalistic serial killer Klaus Wortmann in the gory 1980 horror film ''Antropophagus'' (aka ''The Grim Reaper''). He also played a similar role in its 1981 follow-up, '' Absurd''. Both films were directed by D'Amato and written by Eastman. Career Eastman was born in 1942 in Genoa, Italy and studied at the Centro Sperimentale di Cinematografia in Rome and at the Drama School held of Alessandro Fersen. Annabella Incontrera (11 June 1943 – 19 September 2004), sometimes credited as Pam Stevenson, was an Italian film and television actress. Career Born in Milan, Incontrera attended the Centro Sperimentale di Cinematografia without finishing the course. She made her film debut at 16, in ''Love Now, Pay Later'' (''L'inferno addosso'', 1959), and appeared in about 40 films, mostly in secondary roles. Personal life In 1969, she married Guglielmo Biraghi, film critic for the newspaper '' Il Messaggero'', but they divorced a few years later. She was romantically involved with the married British Labour Party politician Geoffrey Robinson, who in the 1970s was a businessman in charge of the Italian offshoot of British Leyland, and reputedly introduced to his colleagues as 'Signora Robinson'. Domenico "Mimmo" Palmara (25 July 1928 – 10 June 2016) was an Italian actor. Biography Born in Cagliari, Palmara made his film debut in 1952 as a character actor in drama films by eminent directors such as Luchino Visconti, Mario Monicelli and Antonio Pietrangeli, then obtained main roles in a great number of genre films, especially adventure films and peplum films. When the sword and sandals genre declined, he took part at a number of Spaghetti Westerns in which he is usually credited as Dick Palmer. José "Chegüi" Torres (May 3, 1936 – January 19, 2009) was a Puerto Rican-born American professional boxer. As an amateur boxer, he won a silver medal in the junior middleweight division at the 1956 Olympic Games in Melbourne. In 1965, he defeated Willie Pastrano to win the WBC, WBA and lineal light heavyweight championships. Torres trained with the legendary boxing trainer Cus D'Amato. In 1997, he was inducted into the International Boxing Hall of Fame. Amateur career Born in the city of Ponce, Puerto Rico, Torres began boxing when he joined the United States Army as a teenager (he was 17 years old). His only amateur titles had come in Army and Inter-Service championships, several of which he had won.
