Point Isabel Regional Shoreline
Point Isabel Regional Shoreline in Richmond, California, is operated by East Bay Regional Park District, and is a multi-use park for joggers, windsurfers, kayakers, photographers, picnickers, and people walking dogs. It has access for pedestrians and via public transit, private vehicles, and bikes (although bike-riding within Point Isabel itself is not allowed). It also features a concession offering food for people and grooming for pets. A longtime community organization and nonprofit, Point Isabel Dog Owners and Friends (PIDO), is active in the maintenance and improvement of the park. Point Isabel was closed from March 31, 2020 to June 1, 2020, as a precaution during the early days of the COVID-19 pandemic. Dogs were required to be on-leash during the first week after the reopening but off-leash privileges were restored on June 8, 2020. Point Isabel is an unincorporated community and census-designated place (CDP) in central Green Township, Grant County, Indiana, United States. It lies at the intersection of State Roads 13 and 26. As of the 2010 census it had a population of 91. A post office was established at Point Isabel in 1859, and remained in operation until it was discontinued in 1911. Geography Point Isabel is located in southwestern Grant County. State Road 13 leads north to Swayzee and south to Elwood, while State Road 26 leads east to Fairmount and west to the southern outskirts of Kokomo. Point Isabel, Kentucky
Burnside is a home rule-class city in Pulaski County, Kentucky, in the United States. The population was 611 at the 2010 census. In 2004, Burnside became the only town in Pulaski County or any adjoining county to allow the sale of alcoholic beverages in qualified establishments. Since then, Burnside has annexed about eight miles of shoreline along Lake Cumberland in order to include Lee's Ford Marina on Fishing Creek, allowing it to sell alcohol. On August 28, 2007, Burnside voters again approved the sale of alcoholic beverages in restaurants that seat at least 100 people and derive at least 70% of their gross receipts from the sale of food, by a vote of 227–104. The petition for the election was started by two Pulaski County clergymen in an attempt to reverse Burnside's "moist" status. Port Isabel is a city in Cameron County, Texas, United States. It is part of the Brownsville–Harlingen–Raymondville and the Matamoros–Brownsville metropolitan areas. The population was 5,006 at the 2010 census. The city's name is given to the Port Isabel Detention Center, to the northwest next to the Port Isabel-Cameron County Airport. History Established as a town after the Mexican War of Independence, Port Isabel became an important cotton-exporting port before the American Civil War. Point Isabel Light
The Point (Port) Isabel Lighthouse is a historic lighthouse located in Port Isabel, Texas, United States that was built in 1852 to guide ships through the Brazos Santiago Pass to Port Isabel. The lighthouse was added to the National Register of Historic Places on April 30, 1976. On September 28, 1850, the United States Congress authorized an appropriation of $15,000 for "a lighthouse and beacon light" at Brazos Santiago Pass. Work began in February 1852. When complete, the lighthouse was an 82-foot-high brick tower and had four lights. By 1854, it had 15 lamps and 21 reflectors. A third order fresnel lens was installed in 1857 and the rotating light was varied by flashes. During the American Civil War the Point (Port) Isabel Lighthouse was occupied by soldiers from both sides as a look-out post.
