Leo Podolsky
Leo Podolsky (May 25, 1891 – October 1, 1987) was a classical pianist and educator. Biography Podolsky was born in Odessa, Russian Empire on May 25, 1891. Leo Podolsky had many piano teachers in his youth, but George Lalewicz was credited as the most successful. Podolsky also studied at the Cracow Conservatory, and, eventually, he enrolled in the Vienna Academy of Music, where he won the Liszt and the Anton Rubinstein prizes. Podolsky made his Berlin debut in 1912. Podolsky had reached agreement on an international concert tour at the time of his graduation, but it was canceled at the onset of World War I. He was inducted into the Russian military, and during his service, gave concerts in Russia and Siberia. Stranded in Yokohama, Japan by the Russian Revolution, Podolsky gave 426 performances in a tour of Asia and the Pacific Rim that he organized. Boris Podolsky
Boris Yakovlevich Podolsky (russian: link=no, Бори́с Я́ковлевич Подо́льский; June 29, 1896 – November 28, 1966) was a Russian-American physicist of Jewish descent, noted for his work with Albert Einstein and Nathan Rosen on entangled wave functions and the EPR paradox. Education In 1896, Boris Podolsky was born into a poor Jewish family in Taganrog, in the Don Host Oblast of the Russian Empire. Attended Taganrog Gymnasium. He moved to the United States in 1913. After receiving a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Southern California in 1918, he served in the US Army and then worked at the Los Angeles Bureau of Power and Light. In 1926, he obtained an MS in Mathematics from the University of Southern California. In 1928, he received a PhD in Theoretical Physics (under Paul Sophus Epstein) from Caltech. Sophie Podolski
Sophie Podolski (8 October 1953 – 29 December 1974) was a Belgian poet and graphic artist. She published only one book during her lifetime, ''Le pays où tout est permis'' (1972; ''The Country Where Everything Is Allowed''), in which the poems were reproduced in her own artistic handwriting for its original 1972 edition (a censored, typeset edition followed in 1973). Biography Sophie Podolski studied etching at the Académie de Boitsfort and was associated with the artistic community at Montfaucon Research Center. Podolski had schizophrenia and spent time in psychiatric clinics in Paris and Brussels. She attempted suicide in Brussels on 19 December 1974 and died 10 days later as a result.
