Rîșcani District
Rîșcani () is a district ( ro, raion) in the north-west of Moldova, with the administrative center at Rîșcani. The other major city is Costești. As of 1 January 2011, its population was 70,000. History Near the town Costești there are traces of a town which belonged to the Golden Horde, but was abandoned in 1360. Cities with the oldest historical attestation are Horodiște, Recea Șaptebani being mentioned historical period from 1429–1437. Eastern European Summer Time (EEST) is one of the names of the UTC+03:00 time zone, which is 3 hours ahead of Coordinated Universal Time. It is used as a summer daylight saving time in some European and Middle Eastern countries, which makes it the same as Arabia Standard Time, East Africa Time, and Moscow Time. During the winter periods, Eastern European Time ( UTC+02:00) is used. Since 1996, European Summer Time has been applied from the last Sunday in March to the last Sunday in October. Catan was born on 17 August 1949 in the village of Druța (pronounced "Drutza") in the region of Rîșcani of the Republic of Moldova. He commenced his activities as an electronic technician in 1967. Valentina Tăzlăuanu (5 January 1950 – 3 June 2020) was a writer (essayist), journalist and theatre critic from the Republic of Moldova. She was the editor in chief of ''Sud-Est''.
