Pocho Aztlan
''Pocho Aztlan'' is the fourth studio album by American extreme metal band Brujeria, released on September 16, 2016 through Nuclear Blast. This is the first full-length studio album by Brujeria since Brujerizmo, marking the longest gap between the band's studio albums. It is also the first release featuring El Cynico, El Sangron and Cuernito. Pocho Aztlan marks the return of their older grindcore sound from early releases, like Matando Güeros, while maintaining the groove-oriented sound the band explored in Brujerizmo. Brujeria (band)
Brujeria () is an American extreme metal band formed in Los Angeles, California in 1989. The band has Spanish lyrics with topics such as Theistic Satanism, Satanism, Anti-Christian sentiment, anti-Christianity, sex, immigration, narcotics smuggling, and politics. Brujeria portrays Mexico, Mexican imagery, with several members being Hispanic and Latino Americans, while the band's name stands for ''brujería'' (Spanish for "witchcraft"). Brujeria alumni include Fear Factory guitarist Dino Cazares and drummer Raymond Herrera, as well as Billy Gould, Nicholas Barker, Jeff Walker (musician), Jeff Walker and Shane Embury. Adrian Erlandsson
Adrian Erlandsson (born 27 October 1970) is a Swedish heavy metal drummer who is a member of At the Gates (1990–1996, 2007–2008, 2010–), the Haunted (1996–1999, 2013–), and Nemhain (2006–). He has also been a member of H.E.A.L. (1994–1996), Hyperhug (1994–1996), Decameron (1997), Cradle of Filth (1999–2006), Needleye (2006–?), Brujeria (2006–2013), Netherbird (2007–2010), and Paradise Lost (2009–2016). Erlandsson currently resides in London where he owns a photo studio. Biography Erlandsson was born in Malmö to a Swedish father with Romanian roots. Nicholas Barker
Nicholas Howard Barker (born 1973) is an English extreme metal drummer best known as for his work in Cradle of Filth and Dimmu Borgir. Currently he is the drummer for Brujeria and Shining. Biography Barker was born on 25 April 1973. He joined Cradle of Filth as their original drummer, playing on the first four albums. After leaving in 1999, he joined Norwegian symphonic black metal band Dimmu Borgir. After being removed from the line-up, Barker went on to play with Brujeria, Old Man's Child, Lock Up, Gaahl and King ov Hell, Ancient, Atrocity, Leaves' Eyes. In 2007 he recorded with Winter's Thrall, on their EP ''In:Through:Out''. Sampling (music)
In sound and music, sampling is the reuse of a portion (or sample) of a sound recording in another recording. Samples may comprise elements such as rhythm, melody, speech, sounds or entire bars of music, and may be layered, equalized, sped up or slowed down, repitched, looped, or otherwise manipulated. They are usually integrated using hardware ( samplers) or software such as digital audio workstations. A process similar to sampling originated in the 1940s with '' musique concrète'', experimental music created by splicing and looping tape. Shane Embury (born 27 November 1967) is a British bassist and a member of the grindcore and death metal band Napalm Death since 1987. Career Napalm Death While not a founding member, Embury is the longest standing member of the band, having taken part in the ''Scum'' tour, replacing previous bassist Jim Whitely in 1987. He was a fan of the band before he joined, first seeing them perform at Midlands venue The Mermaid the previous year and becoming close friends of the members of the band, particularly Mick Harris. Eric Reed Boucher (born June 17, 1958), known professionally as Jello Biafra, is an American singer, spoken word artist and politician. He is the former lead singer and songwriter for the San Francisco punk rock band Dead Kennedys.
