Ploho
Ploho (Russian for "bad") is a Russian post-punk band from Novosibirsk, formed in 2013. History The group was established in Novosibirsk in 2013. In an interview with Post-Punk.com the band cited growing up in the "rather cold and dark time" of "total crime and chaos" of Russia in the 1990s as drawing the band members towards punk music from an early age. Most influential to the band in this period was the seminal Soviet 80s post punk band Kino. In 2018, the American radio station XRAY.fm listed the band's album ''Kuda ptitsy uletayut umirat'' () in their ranking of the top 25 best albums of the year. In June 2020, the band signed with Canadian record label Artoffact Records. In February 2021, the band released ''Fantomniye chuvstva'' (), their first album under the label. The album was recorded while the musicians were quarantining during the COVID-19 pandemic. Buerak (russian: Буерак, "Gully") is a post-punk band from Novosibirsk, Russia. It was founded in 2014 by Artyom Cherepanov and Alexandr Makeyev. A cameo role, also called a cameo appearance and often shortened to just cameo (), is a brief appearance of a well-known person in a work of the performing arts. These roles are generally small, many of them non-speaking ones, and are commonly either appearances in a work in which they hold some special significance (such as actors from an original movie appearing in its remake) or renowned people making uncredited appearances. ''Isaac'' ( lt, Izaokas) is the first feature film by Lithuanian director Jurgis Matulevičius. It is the first feature film that deals with the participation of Lithuanians in the killing of Jews during the Holocaust. The drama is based on the last novel of the same name by Antanas Škėma before his death in 1961. It was selected as the Lithuanian entry for the Best International Feature Film at the 94th Academy Awards. Premise ''Isaac'' is drama about a Lithuanian activist haunted by the guilt of killing a Jew in the Lietūkis garage massacre in June 1941. Production Antanas Škėma wrote the novel in 1960–1961, but it attracted little attention. It was first published in a volume of his collected works in 1985. Post-punk (originally called new musick) is a broad genre of punk music that emerged in the late 1970s as musicians departed from punk's traditional elements and raw simplicity, instead adopting a variety of avant-garde sensibilities and non-rock influences. Inspired by punk's energy and DIY ethic but determined to break from rock cliches, artists experimented with styles like funk, electronic music, jazz, and dance music; the production techniques of dub and disco; and ideas from art and politics, including critical theory, modernist art, cinema and literature.
