Pleazers
The Pleazers were an Australian-formed rhythm and blues musical group which were popular in New Zealand. They began in Brisbane as the G-Men in 1964. They released a sole studio album, ''Definitely Pleazers'', in 1966, before disbanding in the following year. History The Pleazers began in Brisbane in 1964 as the G-Men with the line-up of Jim Cerezo on lead guitar, Dennis Gilmore on drums, Vince Lipton on bass guitar, Billy London on vocals and Peter Newing on rhythm guitar. They soon moved to Sydney, changed their name to the Pleazers, with the line-up of Gilmore, London and Newing joined by Bobby Bacon (a.k.a. Bob Cooper, a.k.a. Bob London: Billy's brother) on lead vocals, Bruce "Phantom" Robinson on lead guitar, and Ronnie Peel (ex-Mystics, the Missing Links) on bass guitar. Ronnie Peel
Ronald Robert Peel (9 August 1946 – 1 November 2020), also known professionally as Rockwell T. James, was an Australian guitarist, singer and songwriter. Biography Peel began his career in music in the early 1960s as bassist for the Port Macquarie surf band The Mystics. In 1964, Peel and Mystics' lead guitarist Dave Boyne were recruited to join The Missing Links. The band was known for its long unruly hair, and pioneered the use of audio feedback and reverse tape effects in Australia. They enjoyed moderate success in Sydney and released a single on Parlophone in March 1965. Peel left the band in June 1965. Peel next joined Sydney-based band The Pleazers. With a New Zealand recording contract and a club residency, they relocated to Auckland where they achieved a number of hit singles and a significant following. Peel left the band in late 1966. The Missing Links
The Missing Links were an Australian garage rock, R&B, and protopunk group from Sydney who were active from 1964 to 1966. The group was known for wearing their hair long and smashing their equipment on-stage. Throughout the course of 1965, the band would go through a complete and total lineup change resulting in two completely different versions of the band: the first consisted of Peter Anson on guitar, Dave Boyne on guitar, Bob Brady on vocals, Danny Cox on drums and Ronnie Peel on bass and released their debut single, "We 2 Should Live" in March 1965. The second and better-known version had none of the previous members and consisted of Andy Anderson on vocals (initially also on drums), Chris Gray on keyboards and harmonica, Doug Ford on vocals and guitar, Baden Hutchens on drums, and Ian Thomas on bass, and released their debut album, ''The Missing Links'' in December. "Here Today" is a song by the American rock band the Beach Boys from their 1966 album ''Pet Sounds''. Shane Paul Arthur Hales (born 15 May 1946), known by the stage name Shane and for some of the early part of his career as Trevor Hales, is a New Zealand singer who had several top-10 hits in that country's singles chart in the 1960s and 1970s. Biography Shane grew up in Guildford, Surrey, England, attending Park Barn Secondary School, before moving to Australia and then New Zealand in the mid-1960s. Shane started his career in 1966 as a member of Australian band The Pleazers, who spent much of their career in Auckland.
