Plaza del Sol (formerly Osceola Square Mall) is an indoor shopping mall in Kissimmee, Florida, United States. It is the only enclosed shopping center in Kissimmee, with over 50 specialty shops. Major tenants of the mall include Ollie's Bargain Outlet, Ross Dress for Less, dd's Discounts, Burlington, Planet Fitness, and Florida Technical College. Kissimmee ( ) is the largest city and county seat of Osceola County, Florida, United States. As of the 2020 census, the population was 79,226. It is a Principal City of the Orlando-Kissimmee-Sanford, Florida, Metropolitan Statistical Area, which had a 2010 population of 2,234,411. Uptons was a department store based in Atlanta, Georgia, United States. The chain operated primarily in the Southeastern United States, with locations in Florida, Georgia, Tennessee, Maryland, North Carolina, South Carolina, and Virginia. The chain was closed in 1999. History The first Uptons opened at Roswell Mall in Roswell, Georgia in 1985. Two stores later opened in other parts of Atlanta. WFTV (channel 9) is a television station in Orlando, Florida, United States, affiliated with ABC. It is owned by Cox Media Group alongside independent station WRDQ (channel 27). Both stations share studios on East South Street (SR 15) in downtown Orlando, while WFTV's transmitter is located near Christmas, Florida. Bealls Inc. is an American retail corporation with headquarters located in Bradenton, Florida, since its founding in 1915, the family-owned corporation now operates more than 650 stores under the names of Bealls, Bealls Outlet, Burkes Outlet, and Home Centric. The CEO of Bealls Inc. is Matt Beall. Bealls Florida was not affiliated with the Texas-based Bealls chain formerly owned by Stage Stores, although the two overlapped in some markets. Eckerd Corporation
Eckerd Corporation was an American drug store chain that was headquartered in Largo, Florida, and toward the end of its life, in Warwick, Rhode Island. The chain had approximately 2,800 stores in 23 states as far west as Arizona. In November 1996, Eckerd drugs was purchased by JCPenney. In April 2004, the company, the fourth largest drug chain in the U.S., was broken up in a $4.52 billion deal, with approximately 1,269 stores in Florida, Louisiana and Texas, along with Eckerd's $1.3 billion mail order pharmacy, sold to CVS Corporation (now CVS Health). The deal enabled CVS to leapfrog past rival Walgreens with some 5,400 stores. Morrison's Cafeterias was a chain of cafeteria-style restaurants, located in the Southeastern United States with a concentration of locations in Georgia and Florida. Generally found in shopping malls, Morrison's primary competition was Piccadilly Cafeterias. It was especially popular in Florida, with its high proportion of retirees. At its peak, the company was a symbol of good Southern cooking and operated 151 restaurants under the Morrison's name in 13 states. The company began as a single cafeteria opened in 1920 in Mobile, Alabama by J. A. Morrison. Morrison helped develop the cafeteria dining concept, which was unique at the time and would later become characteristic of the Southern United States.
