''Playa Del Rock'' is the third studio album by American hard rock band London, released on December 19, 1990, by Noise Records. Some versions of this album was released under the band name ''D'Priest''. Studio recording included appearances by Jimmy Greenspoon of Three Dog Night, Guy Babylon of Elton John as well as Richard Podolor, a/k/a Richie Allen on Mandolin. "Hot Child in the City" is a Nick Gilder cover. London is an American glam metal band formed in Hollywood, California in 1978. The band included several members that would go on to play in more famous bands, such as Mötley Crüe, Guns N' Roses, W.A.S.P. and Cinderella. History Original late-1970s band London was formed in 1978 by Lizzie Grey, Nikki Sixx and Dane Rage (real name Dane Scarborough). The three met when Sixx and Rage were recruited to play bass and drums for Sister, the band that Grey was in with Blackie Lawless. Guy Babylon
Guy Babylon (December 20, 1956 – September 2, 2009) was an American keyboardist/composer, most noted for his work with Elton John. Babylon was born in New Windsor, Maryland. He attended Francis Scott Key High School before moving on to the University of South Florida, on a swimming scholarship, where he earned a BFA in music composition in 1979. Upon graduation, he moved to Los Angeles, California. In 1988, he joined Elton John's studio and touring band, appearing on the album ''Sleeping with the Past''. In 1990, he performed with the group Warpipes, a side project of fellow Elton John member Davey Johnstone. Guy performed and recorded with several artists such as Mike Pinera, Iron Butterfly, Blues Image, Luis Cardenas and Renegade. Guy Babylon also arranged many Elton John introductions, including those used in "Bennie and the Jets" and "Pinball Wizard". Nick Gilder
Nicholas George Gilder (born 21 December 1951) is a British-Canadian musician who first came to prominence as the frontman for the glam rock band Sweeney Todd. He later had a successful solo career as a singer/songwriter. Biography Born in London, England, Gilder was raised in Vancouver, Canada. He began his career as front-man for the glam rock band Sweeney Todd, which later briefly featured a very young Bryan Adams. Sweeney Todd had a number one hit, "Roxy Roller", that held on to the top spot in the Canadian music charts for three weeks in 1976. It went on to win a Juno Award for " Best Selling Single" in 1977. "Hot Child in the City" is a song by English-Canadian musician Nick Gilder. It was released in June 1978 as a single from the album '' City Nights''. It went to No. 1 both in Canada (October 14, 1978) and in the United States (October 28, 1978).
