The is a subcompact car that was manufactured in Japan by Toyota from 1999 until 2005, when it was replaced by the Belta. Designated by Toyota as the ''XP10'' series, the Platz was also sold in export markets as either the Toyota Yaris or Toyota Echo. The "Yaris" and "Echo" names were also given to the export version of the related Japanese market Vitz hatchback, from which the Platz derives. In Japan, it was only available at the ''Toyopet Store'' dealerships. Etymology The name "Platz" is German for "space" (as defined by "the interior room is spacious"). Lew Platz
Lew Platz (born 2 October 1952) is an Australian former professional rugby league footballer who played in the 1970s and 1980s. In his career he played for and the Penrith Panthers and the Parramatta Eels clubs and also represented Australia and Queensland on several occasions. Platz's position for the majority of his career was at but he also played at . His brother Greg Platz was also a top grade rugby league player. Playing career Platz initially played in the Brisbane competition with Wynnum-Manly and while at the club represented Queensland and also played for Australia in the 1975 rugby league world cup. In 1978, Platz made the move to Sydney and played with Parramatta. In 1979, he was a member of the Parramatta side which made it to the preliminary final but were defeated by eventual premiers St George. Eric Platz (born March 3, 1973 in Cumberland, Maryland) is a drummer, percussionist, and educator. Since the late 1990s, Platz has maintained an active performing career across North America, touring with artists of many different backgrounds. Platz performs in many styles and genres including, but not limited to: jazz, americana, world music, rock, and classical. Among other ensembles, Platz is currently a member of Brooklyn-based singer-songwriter Carrie Rodriguez’s band, as well as world music ensemble Asefa. In addition to many tours and radio appearances with Rodriguez's band, Platz has had a number of television appearances, including an appearance on PBS's Austin City Limits. Thomas Steven Platz is an American retired professional bodybuilder. He was known for his leg development, which in his prime measured over 30 inches, earning him the nickname The Quadfather. Platz was part of Vince McMahon's short-lived World Bodybuilding Federation (WBF). Reinhold Platz
Reinhold Platz (16 January 1886 – 15 September 1966) was a German aircraft designer and manufacturer in service of the Dutch company Fokker. Platz was hired by Fokker in 1912 as a welder. His first hands-on projects were to weld the frame parts for the Fokker Spin. Platz became the head designer at the Fokker factory in Schwerin in 1916. Platz had no higher education like Anthony Fokker, but was a man of practical knowledge. This turned the two men into a strong team, in which Fokker was able to bring forth new revolutionary ideas to aircraft design, while Platz implemented them in prototype aircraft. Platz became the head designer at the Fokker factory in Amsterdam after World War I. Platz is now largely credited with designing the innovative Fokker D.VII fighter aircraft. David Platz (January 13, 1929 – May 20, 1994) was a German-born British music publisher and music business executive who established and led Essex Music, one of the major independent music publishing companies of the 1960s and 1970s. Elizabeth Alvina Platz is an American Lutheran pastor and was the first woman in North America ordained by a Lutheran church body. She was ordained in November 1970 into the Lutheran Church in America (LCA). The ordination of women, approved earlier that year by both the LCA and The American Lutheran Church (ALC) was controversial. The ALC ordained its first woman as a pastor, Barbara Andrews, in December of the same year. The ALC and LCA merged in 1988 with the Association of Evangelical Lutheran Churches to form the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America (ELCA). Joseph Platz (11 April 1905, Cologne, Germany – 30 December 1981, Manchester, Connecticut, USA) was a German-American chess master. He won the championship of Cologne in 1926, won the championship of the Rhine at Karlsruhe 1928, and won the championship of Hannover in 1931. He also tied for 4th–6th at Cologne 1924, and tied for 4th–5th at Duisburg 1929 (DSB Congress, ''Hauptturnier A'').
