Platinum (Dean Miller Album)
''Platinum'' is the title of the third studio album recorded, but only the second to be released, by American country music artist Dean Miller. It was released in 2005 on Koch Records. It followed an unreleased second album, ''Just Me'', which he recorded in 2002 for Universal South Records. ''Platinum'' produced only one non-charting single prior to the closure of Koch's country division. "I've Been a Long Time Leaving" was written by Miller's father, Roger Miller, and previously recorded by Waylon Jennings on his album ''Dreaming My Dreams''. The track "Right Now" was previously recorded by the short-lived band Rushlow on their 2003 album of the same name. Country Music
Country (also called country and western) is a genre of popular music that originated in the Southern and Southwestern United States in the early 1920s. Rushlow
Rushlow was an American country music band founded in 2003. Its members were Tim Rushlow (lead vocals), Doni Harris (banjo, acoustic guitar, vocals), Kurt Allison (acoustic guitar, electric guitar, vocals), Tully Kennedy (bass guitar, vocals), Rich Redmond (drums), and Billy Welch (keyboards). Prior to the band's foundation, Rushlow was lead singer of Little Texas until 1997, and a solo artist between then and 2001. Signed to Lyric Street Records in 2003, Rushlow released two singles and one album ('' Right Now'') on the label that year. Frederick John Elgersma (born July 9, 1957), known by the stage name Fred Eaglesmith, is a Canadian alternative country singer-songwriter. He is known for writing songs about vehicles, rural life, down-and-out characters, lost love and quirky rural folk. ''Right Now'' is the only studio album released by the American country music band Rushlow, a band fronted by former Little Texas vocalist Tim Rushlow. ''Right Now'' produced two singles for the band on the Hot Country Songs charts: "I Can't Be Your Friend" at #16 and "Sweet Summer Rain" at #42. Additionally, the title track was later recorded by Dean Miller on his 2005 album ''Platinum''. "I Can't Be Your Friend" was covered by DHT on their 2005 album '' Listen to Your Heart''. Waylon Jennings
Waylon Jennings (June 15, 1937 – February 13, 2002) was an American singer, songwriter, musician, and actor. He pioneered the Outlaw Movement in country music. Jennings started playing guitar at the age of eight and performed at age fourteen on KVOW radio, after which he formed his first band, The Texas Longhorns. Jennings left high school at age sixteen, determined to become a musician, and worked as a performer and DJ on KVOW, KDAV, KYTI, KLLL, in Coolidge, Arizona, and Phoenix.
