Platino Award For Best Miniseries Or TV Series
The Platino Award for Best Miniseries or TV series (Spanish: ''Premio Platino a la mejor teleserie iberoamericana'') is one of the Platino Awards, Ibero-America's film awards. The category was first awarded at the 4th Platino Awards in 2017 expanding the categories from awarding only cinema to also television productions. Spanish crime series '' Four Seasons in Havana'' was the first recipient of the award. Since the creation of the category, no series has won more than once. Argentine series '' El marginal'' holds the record of most nominations with three, followed by '' Narcos: Mexico'' and '' El Ministerio del Tiempo'' with two each. Netflix holds the record of most wins in the category with three of the seven winners being productions from the streaming service. Platino Awards
The Platino Awards, known in Spanish as Premios Platino del Cine Iberoamericano (" Platinum Prizes of Ibero-American Cinema"), are Ibero-America's annual film awards. The awards were established in 2013, and the first awards ceremony took place on 5 April 2014 at the Teatro Anayasi, Panama City. The ceremony continues to take place annually between April and July, and awards are given to films produced during the previous year. The award itself is a platinum figure with the shape of a woman offering the world with Latin America's map on the center, it was created by designer Javier Mariscal. The 7th Platino Awards honoured the best in Ibero-American films of 2019 presented by the Entidad de Gestión de Derechos de los Productores Audiovisuales (EGEDA) and the Federación Iberoamericana de Productores Cinematográficos y Audiovisuales (FIPCA). The ceremony was meant to take place at Gran Tlachco Theater in Riviera Maya, Mexico on May 3, 2020 but due to the COVID-19 pandemic was postponed.
