Platini (Cape Verdean Footballer)
Luís Carlos Almada Soares (born 16 April 1986), commonly known as Platini, is a Cape Verdean professional Association football, footballer who plays as a Midfielder#Winger, winger. He spent five years of his professional career in Portugal in addition to playing in seven other countries, and chose his name in honour of France national football team, French international Michel Platini. Platini made his international debut for Cape Verde national football team, Cape Verde in 2012, and represented the country at two Africa Cup of Nations tournaments. FC Steaua București was a Romanian professional football club of which two current entities are claiming the records. The original ''FC Steaua București'' team was part of the namesake CSA Steaua București sports club and belonged to the Ministry of National Defence. In 1998, the club and facilities were separated from the sports club and taken over by a group of shareholders in a post-Ceaușescu privatisation scheme, allegedly leading to one of the shareholders (Gigi Becali) acquiring full ownership five years later. The Cypriot First Division ( el, Πρωτάθλημα Α΄ Κατηγορίας) is the top tier football league competition in Cyprus, run by the Cyprus Football Association. Since February 2016, it is sponsored by Cyta and is thus officially known as the Cyta Championship. In association football, a substitute is a player who is brought on to the pitch during a match in exchange for an existing player. Substitutions are generally made to replace a player who has become tired or injured, or who is performing poorly, or for tactical reasons (such as bringing a striker on in place of a defender). A player who has been substituted during a match takes no further part in the game, in games played under the standard International Football Association Board Laws of the Game.
