Platform For Progress
The Platform for Progress ( Bosnian: ''Platforma za progres'', abbreviated PzP) is a centrist political party in Bosnia and Herzegovina, founded on 25 November 2018. At the party's founding convention, the 1,200 delegates chose Mirsad Hadžikadić as president of the party and Aleksandar Eskić as vice president. History 2020 municipal elections The party has supported electronic voting, similar to the system used in Estonia. The party organized several protests in 2020. On 16 May 2020, it organized protests in Mostar, rallying in support of elections which had not been held in the city since 2008. Mirsad Hadžikadić
Mirsad Hadžikadić (born 21 January 1955) is a Bosnian professor and politician. He is the current president of the Platform for Progress party. Hadžikadić is also the director of the Institute of Complex Systems at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte. At the 2018 general election, he ran for a seat in the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina as a Bosniak member, but was not elected. Biography Hadžikadić was born in Banja Luka in a Bosniak household. In 1984, he moved to the United States, receiving a PhD in Computer Science at Southern Methodist University in 1987. In April 2018, Hadžikadić announced he would run at the 2018 Bosnian general election for the seat of Bosniak member of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina. 2018 Bosnian General Election
General elections were held in Bosnia and Herzegovina on 7 October 2018. They decided the makeup of Bosnia and Herzegovina's Presidency as well as national, entity, and cantonal governments. Voter turnout was 54%. The elections for the House of Representatives were divided into two; one for the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina and one for Republika Srpska. In the presidential election, voters in the Federation elected Bosniak Šefik Džaferović and Croat Željko Komšić, while voters in Republika Srpska elected Serb Milorad Dodik. The Bosniaks ( bs, Bošnjaci, Cyrillic: Бошњаци, ; , ) are a South Slavic ethnic group native to the Southeast European historical region of Bosnia, which is today part of Bosnia and Herzegovina, who share a common Bosnian ancestry, culture, history and language.
