Planica 1991
Planica 1991 was a two day ski flying competition part of 1990/91 World Cup season, held from 23–24 March 1991 in Planica, SR Slovenia, Yugoslavia. Total of 80,000 people have gathered in three days. Planica
Planica () is an Alpine valley in northwestern Slovenia, extending south from the border village of Rateče, not far from another well-known ski resort, Kranjska Gora. Further south, the valley extends into the Tamar Valley, a popular hiking destination in Triglav National Park. Planica is famous for ski jumping. The first ski jumping hill was constructed before 1930 at the slope of Mount Ponca. In 1933, Ivan Rožman constructed a larger hill, known as the Bloudek Giant (''Bloudkova velikanka'') after Stanko Bloudek, which later gave rise to ski flying. The venue was completed in 1934. The first ski jump over in history was achieved at the hill in 1936 by Sepp Bradl. At the time, it was the biggest jumping hill in the world. Andreas Felder
Andreas Felder (born 6 March 1962) is an Austrian former ski jumper. During this period he dominated the sport, together with contemporaries Jens Weißflog and Matti Nykänen. He finished in the top three overall six times in the World Cup and won the 1990/91 overall. He won his first international championship medal at the 1982 FIS Nordic World Ski Championships in Oslo with a silver medal in the team large hill event. Career His big breakthrough came in the 1984/85 season. In December that year he won the World cup competition in Thunder Bay, Ontario, Canada. He won six competitions in that season, but ended in 2nd place overall behind Matti Nykänen. Pavel Ploc (, born 15 June 1964) is a Czech former ski jumping, ski jumper who competed for Czechoslovakia, winning two Olympic medals. Espen Bredesen (born 2 February 1968) is a Norwegian former ski jumper. Career At World Cup level he won gold and silver medals at the 1994 Winter Olympics at Lillehammer. Raimo Ylipulli (born 13 June 1970, in Rovaniemi) is a Finnish former ski jumper who competed from 1986 to 1994. He won a silver medal in the team large hill at the 1991 FIS Nordic World Ski Championships in Val di Fiemme and finished 20th in the individual large hill at those same championships. Stefan Horngacher
Stefan Horngacher (born 20 September 1969) is an Austrian ski jumping coach and former ski jumper. Since April 2019 he is coaching the German national team. Career Horngacher won a bronze medal in the team large hill at the Winter Olympics in both 1994 and 1998. He also competed at the 2002 Winter Olympics in Salt Lake City, with his best finish being fourth in the team large hill event. At the 1991 Ski Jumping World Championships, he won gold in the team large hill event and followed that with three bronzes over the next ten years (1993, 1999 and 2001); he also won gold in the 2001 team normal hill event.
