Piero Pierotti
Piero Pierotti (1 January 1912 – 4 May 1970) was an Italian director, screenwriter and journalist. Life and career Born in Pisa, Pierotti started his career as a journalist, working for ''La Nazione'' and ''Il Nuovo Corriere'', and later founding the newspaper ''Corriere dell'Arno''. After some amateur shorts, he moved to Rome where he enrolled in the courses of directing at the Centro Sperimentale di Cinematografia, graduating in 1939. Pierotti later started teaching direction at the University of Pisa, and at the same time he was also active as a documentarist and an assistant director, often collaborating with Raffaello Matarazzo. Active as a screenwriter since 1955, in the late 1950s he made his directional debut with '' L'arciere nero'' and he then directed fifteen films until 1969, being mainly active in the adventure and peplum genres. The fourth wall is a performance convention in which an invisible, imaginary wall separates actors from the audience. While the audience can see through this ''wall'', the convention assumes the actors act as if they cannot. From the 16th century onward, the rise of illusionism in staging practices, which culminated in the realism and naturalism of the theatre of the 19th century, led to the development of the fourth wall concept. The metaphor suggests a relationship to the mise-en-scène behind a proscenium arch. When a scene is set indoors and three of the walls of its room are presented onstage, in what is known as a box set, the fourth of them would run along the line (technically called the proscenium) dividing the room from the auditorium. Otello Toso
Otello Toso (22 February 1914 – 15 March 1966) was an Italian film and stage actor. Born in Padua, Toso graduated from the Centro Sperimentale di Cinematografia in 1939 and immediately later he started his film career. He was particularly prolific in the 1940s, in films in which he usually starred negative characters. After World War II Toso mostly starred in melodramas and genre films, except for Juan Antonio Bardem's '' Death of a Cyclist''. He died at 52 in a car accident in Pieve di Curtarolo, near Padua. Piero Palermini (1925–1996) was an Italian film actor. He was cast by Riccardo Freda in the 1949 swashbuckler, possibly due to a physical resemblance to the Hollywood actor Gene Kelly. Marco Guglielmi
Marco Guglielmi (6 October 1926 – 28 December 2005) was an Italian actor, screenwriter and author. Life and career Born Augusto Guglielmi in Sanremo, he graduated from ragioneria, then he enrolled at the university in the faculty of economics and business, though without finishing his studies. Guglielmi later attended the Centro Sperimentale di Cinematografia in Rome, graduating in 1953, despite having participated in 1951–52 in a few films in minor roles. He then started a busy acting career on stage, television and cinema, even if often cast in supporting and character roles. Guglielmi also worked in fotoromanzi for the magazine ''Sogno''. He was also active as screenwriter and novelist; his novel, "Er più de Roma", co-written by Lucio Mandarà, was adapted into the film ''Il principe fusto'', directed by Maurizio Arena and released in 1960.
