''Plan for Destruction'' is a 1943 American short propaganda film directed by Edward Cahn. It looks at the Geopolitik ideas of the ex-World War I professor, General Karl Haushofer, who is portrayed as the head of a huge organisation for gathering information of strategic value and the mastermind behind Adolf Hitler's wars and plans to enslave the world. The film was nominated for an Academy Award for Best Documentary Short. Edward Cahn (director)
Edward L. Cahn (February 12, 1899 – August 25, 1963) was an American film director. Early life and education Cahn was born in Brooklyn, New York. He went to work at Universal Pictures in 1917 while still a student at UCLA. Career He is best known for directing ''Our Gang'' comedies from 1939 to 1943, and a long line of other short subjects and B-movies afterward. He is also known for directing the 1958 film ''It! The Terror from Beyond Space'', the film that inspired the 1979 film ''Alien''. George Lynn (actor)
Peter George Lynn (January 28, 1906 – December 3, 1967) was an American actor and writer. Early life Lynn was born January 28, 1906, in Cumberland, Maryland. He graduated from Washington and Lee University and worked as a pilot for Curtiss-Wright before he became an actor. Career Lynn acted in about 30 plays at the Pasadena Playhouse. He appeared in films such as ''Sinner Take All'' (1936), the MGM Academy Award nominated short ''Torture Money'' (1937), ''The Great Dictator'' (1940), and ''To Be or Not to Be'' (1942). Towards the end of his career he appeared in television series such as ''The Adventures of Rin Tin Tin'' (1956–8), ''The Untouchables'' (1959) and ''The Deputy'' (1961). Lynn was also a playwright and a contributor of material published in magazines. Death Lynn died December 3, 1967, in Los Angeles, California.
