The Mercury Cycling Team was an American professional cycling team. It was founded in 1992 as an amateur team by John Wordin and Thurlow Rogers, with Whole Foods , Mrs. Gooch's Natural Foods Markets as the lead sponsor in 1992 and 1994. Before Mercury (automobile), Mercury took over title sponsorship from 1998–1999 and 2001–2002 the team raced under various title sponsors including Miller Lite (1993), San Joaquin Figs, Nutra Fig (1995–1996), Comptel Data Systems, LLC, Comptel Data Systems (1997), and Manheim Auctions (2000). The International Tour of Rhodes is an annual professional cycling stage race held in Rhodes, Greece. It was first held in 1987, but the second edition only took place in 1995. Paris–Rouen (cycle Race)
Paris–Rouen was the first cycle race covering a distance between two cities. It was held between the cities of Paris and Rouen on 7 November 1869. The winner of the inaugural race was an Englishman living in Paris, James Moore, who rode the 123 kilometres dividing both cities in 10 hours and 40 minutes, including time spent walking his bicycle up the steeper hills. The event was organized by the fortnightly cycling magazine Le Vélocipède Illustré and the Olivier brothers, owners of a bicycle manufacturer company called ''The Michaux Company''. They were delighted with the success of short races held in Parc de Saint Cloud, Paris and on 7 November they promoted a race between Paris and Rouen, covering a distance of 123 kilometres. The first prize was one thousand gold francs and a bicycle. The rules of the race said that the riders were not ''to be pulled by a dog or use sails''.Woodland, L. 2003 Critérium Du Dauphiné Libéré
The 2003 Critérium du Dauphiné Libéré was the 55th edition of the cycle race and was held from 8 June to 15 June 2003. The race started in Villard-de-Lans and finished in Grenoble. The race has no overall winner. Although Lance Armstrong originally won the event, he was stripped of the title due to violating anti-doping regulations. In 2012, the United States Anti-Doping Agency disqualified him from his results after 1 August 1998. The verdict was confirmed by the Union Cycliste Internationale.
