Piscinola (Naples Metro)
Piscinola-Scampia (formerly Piscinola) is a Metro station, station on Line 1 (Naples Metro), Line 1 of the Naples Metro and together with Garibaldi (Naples Metro), Garibaldi is one of the two termini. The station, inaugurated on 19 July 1995 together with the extension from the Colli Aminei (Naples Metro), Colli Aminei station, consists of two levels: in the upper one stands the terminal station of line 1, while in the lower one is the terminal station of the Linea arcobaleno, Linea Arcobaleno (Piscinola Scampia station of the Naples-Aversa railway, Naples-Aversa line) which between 2005 and 2009 partially restored the lower Alifana closed in 1976. It has been decided that this station will not be a fixed terminus, as the line will continue towards the Capodichino Airport, Capodichino airport, the business center until reaching Piazza Garibaldi. Naples–Aversa Railway
The Napoli–Aversa railway ( it, Linea Napoli-Giugliano-Aversa, also known as Rainbow line as each station is identified by a different colour, Alifana bassa, or sometimes Line 11) is a rapid transit line that connects Naples with its northern suburbs. Route The line connects Naples (Piscinola station) to the town of Aversa. Only Piscinola station (shared with line 1) is within the municipality of Naples. Management The line is managed by Ente Autonomo Volturno (EAV) company. History The first section of the line, between Piscinola and Mugnano, was opened in 2005. In 2009, the line was extended from Mugnano to Aversa Centro, with two intermediate stops in Giugliano and Aversa Ippodromo. Secondigliano () is an old Italian municipality which became a modern suburb in the north of Naples. Geography Secondigliano lies between San Pietro a Patierno and Scampìa. History The name may derive from a contraction of "secondo" (second) and "miglio" (mile) since the area was at the second milestone on the ancient road to Capua. Alternatively, the name may derive from the Roman family name "Secondili."
