Pip Rippon
Thomas "Pip" Rippon (4 February 1888 – 29 May 1950) Access individual season statistics via Season Stats dropdown menu. was an English professional footballer who scored 47 goals from 154 appearances in the Football League playing as a forward for Grimsby Town and Lincoln City and Blackburn Rovers. Rippon was born in Beighton, then in Derbyshire, now a part of Sheffield. He played for Grimsby Town both before and after the First World War, making 121 appearances in the Football League. In 1920, he joined Lincoln City, then playing in the Midland League. Rippon made his Lincoln debut on 28 August 1920 in a 3–1 win at home to Mexborough Town, and went on to be the club's leading scorer in the 1920–21 season with 27 goals from League and FA Cup games as Lincoln won the Midland League title. Beighton, Sheffield
Beighton is a village 6 miles south-east of Sheffield's city centre, now classed as a historic township of the city. Due to much expansion, the village became a part of Sheffield city in 1967, which also saw it transfer from Derbyshire to the newly created South Yorkshire, England. During much of the late 17th to 19th centuries the village was noted for its edge tool manufacturing, with Thomas Staniforth & Co Sickle works being based at nearby Hackenthorpe. Willis Rippon (15 May 1886 – 16 March 1956) was an English professional footballer who played as a centre forward in the Football League for Bristol City, Grimsby Town and Woolwich Arsenal. The Football Association Challenge Cup, more commonly known as the FA Cup, is an annual knockout football competition in men's domestic English football.
