Pip Blackwell
Philip 'Pip' Blackwell (born 27 November 1974) is an English former professional darts player who plays in British Darts Organisation tournaments. Career Pip Blackwell started to play darts when he was 11. He joined the BDO Circuit in 2007 but had to wait for his first successes till 2014 when he four times reached the finals of BDO events the Muensterland Classic losing to Scott Mitchell, BDO Gold Cup losing to Wayne Warren, British Classic and the Swedish Open losing both to Alan Norris. He took part in the Winmau World Masters 2014 where he lost in the last eight to Jamie Hughes by 1-3. By the ranking Blackwell qualified for the BDO World Darts Championship which had always been a lifetime ambition but was eliminated first round 1-3 by a strong Ross Montgomery. 2017 As of 11 June he has not participated in any darts event. Stone, Kent
Stone is a village in the Borough of Dartford in Kent, England. It is located 2.5 miles east of Dartford. History Iron Age pottery and artefacts have been found here proving it to be an ancient settlement site. The 13th-century parish church, dedicated to St Mary the Virgin at Stone, was known as the "Lantern of Kent" from its beacon light known to all sailors on the river. Alan Norris (darts Player)
Alan Norris (born 21 February 1972) is a former English darts player. He was the runner-up at the 2014 BDO World Darts Championship and also lost in the final of the 2012 Zuiderduin Masters, with Stephen Bunting prevailing on both occasions. In 2015, he switched to the PDC and, after reaching the quarter-finals of the 2016 World Championship, he was named the PDC Best Newcomer of the year. BDO career Norris won the 2007 Sweden National Championships, beating Daniel Larsson in the final. He had earlier reached the semi-finals of the Finnish Open. Norris then narrowly missed out qualifying for the last 16 of the 2007 Winmau World Masters, having beaten Michael Rosenauer, Mitchell Crooks and Daniel Brouwer before losing to Jordy Terburg. Darryl Fitton
Darryl Fitton (born 5 May 1962) is an English professional darts player. He is nicknamed The Dazzler and comes to the stage dancing to the Madness song "One Step Beyond" wearing sunglasses; one of the most popular walk-ons with the audience. Before embarking on a career in darts, Fitton worked as an undertaker. Darts career Fitton's first TV appearance was against Peter Manley in the 1997 PDC World Matchplay. However, he lost 8-6, and has not made another PDC appearance since. Fitton debuted in the BDO World Championship in 2003 as a qualifier, but lost 1-3 to fellow qualifier John Burton in the first round. Martin Atkins (born 24 December 1965) is an English professional darts player. His nickname is The Assassin. Career Atkins has been a Yorkshire county player since 1996 and has represented the England national side in many occasions including 3 times in the Six Nations, winning all three, and once in the World Cup in 2011, contributing to England's best performance since 1995. The 2015 Lakeside World Professional Darts Championship was the 38th World Championship organised by the British Darts Organisation, and the 30th staging at the Lakeside Country Club at Frimley Green. 2014 BDO champion Stephen Bunting did not defend his title, as he switched to the rival PDC organisation at the start of the season. Jamie Hughes (darts Player)
Jamie Hughes (born 27 February 1986) is an English professional darts player. He competes for the Professional Darts Corporation. Career 2014–2015 Hughes broke out in 2014 by entering the world's top ten and reaching the final of the prestigious Winmau World Masters. He defeated Alan Norris 3–2 in the quarter-finals from 2–0 down, and Martin Adams 6–5 in the semi-finals from 5–2 down, also surviving ten match darts in the ninth set. Hughes was eventually beaten 7–3 by Martin Phillips having led 2–0 and thrown for the third set. In December of that year, Hughes won the prestigious Zuiderduin Masters on his first appearance at the event, surviving six match darts in the semi-final against Tony O'Shea before beating Gary Robson 5–0 in the final, losing only three legs in the whole match. Winmau World Masters
The World Masters is one of the longest-running and most prestigious of the BDO/WDF tournaments, which began in 1974. The tournament is sponsored by darts board manufacturer, Winmau. The World Masters was unusual in darts in that its sets are the best of 3 legs (first to 2) rather than the standard best of 5 legs (first to 3). It was previously the final leg of the BDO's Grand Slam title of televised majors, along with the BDO World Darts Championship, International Darts League and World Darts Trophy, until the latter two tournaments were axed in 2008. The champion is referred to as the World Master. After the collapse of the British Darts Organisation in September 2020, the World Darts Federation announced plans to launch the WDF World Masters. Wayne Warren
Wayne Warren (born 12 June 1962) is a Welsh professional darts player who plays in events of the World Darts Federation (WDF). He was the last ever BDO World Darts Champion. He is the oldest player to become world champion. Darts career BDO Warren qualified for the 2005 BDO World Darts Championship, where he was the only Welshman in the field. He lost 3–0 in the first round to third seed Mervyn King.
