Piotr Pawlicki Jr.
Piotr Pawlicki (born 30 November 1994) is a Polish speedway rider. Career Born in Leszno, he is the son of former rider Piotr Pawlicki Sr. and the younger brother of Przemysław Pawlicki. He won the Polish Under-21 Championship in 2011, emulating his father and also competed in the World Under-21 Championship. He rode for his hometown team Unia Leszno in the Speedway Ekstraliga and also for Piła in the Polish second division. In August 2011 he was signed by Coventry Bees and rode for them in the Elite League. He was a reserve at the 2011 Polish Speedway Grand Prix at Toruń. His 2011 season was ended by a broken wrist sustained while racing in Poland in October. In 2012, he rode for Poole Pirates as a temporary replacement for the injured Dennis Andersson, coming in on an assessed average of 4.00. The Speedway Under-21 World Championship is an annual Motorcycle speedway, speedway event held each year organized by the Fédération Internationale de Motocyclisme, International Motorcycling Federation (FIM) since 1977. As of 2022, the title was awarded to the winner of the SGP2 category at the FIM Speedway World Championship. British Speedway Promoters' Association
The British Speedway Promoters Limited (BSPL) organises the domestic motorcycle speedway competitions in the United Kingdom. They are also responsible for the promotion and running of the FIM meetings staged in Britain. Wimbledon controller Ronnie Green was the first chairman of the organization. Each club has a promoter in the association, although promotions under three years of membership do not have a vote. A ''Management Committee'' is elected at the Annual General Meeting, and this committee is responsible for the day-to-day running of British speedway. All the promoters meet periodically to discuss matters of importance, usually rule changes. Dennis Andersson
Dennis Gustav Martin Andersson (born 3 June 1991) is a former motorcycle speedway rider from Sweden. Career He rode for the Atlas Wrocław in the Polish Speedway Ekstraliga and continued to ride for the club until the end of the 2012 season. In 2013, he joined Stal Rzeszów for one season before completing a final season in Poland with Polonia Bydgoszcz. His British league debut came in 2011 for the Poole Pirates, where he would spend three seasons in total at the club. Andersson won the 2010 Under-19 European Champion title. He also won the Swedish U-21 Championship on two occasions in 2010 and 2012. Speedway Grand Prix
Speedway Grand Prix are a series of stand-alone motorcycle speedway events over the course of a season used to determine the Speedway World Champion. The series started in 1995 replacing the previous format of a single event final. The first winner was Hans Nielsen of Denmark. Event format The format for a Grand Prix changed for the 2007 season onwards. Sixteen riders take part in each Grand Prix and over the course of twenty heats each rider will race against every other rider once. The top eight scorers advance to a semi-final and from each semi-final the 1st and 2nd placed riders will advance to the GP final. In this format all rides counted towards Grand Prix points totals, including the semi-final and final, the maximum points for a single GP is 21 (5x heat wins, semi final win and final win). The Elite League was the top division of Motorcycle speedway, speedway league competition in the United Kingdom, governed by the The Speedway Control Bureau, Speedway Control Bureau (SCB), in conjunction with the British Speedway Promoters' Association (BSPA). It was founded in 1997 and was sponsored by Sky Sports until the end of the 2013 season. In 2016 Elite League speedway season, 2016, the Elite League featured 8 teams, unlike 10 in 2014 Elite League speedway season, 2014, during a season which ran between March and October. Motorcycle Speedway
Motorcycle speedway, usually referred to simply as speedway, is a motorcycle sport involving four and sometimes up to six riders competing over four clockwise, anti-clockwise laps of an oval circuit. The motorcycles are specialist machines that use only one gear and have no brakes. Racing takes place on a flat oval track usually consisting of soil, dirt, loosely packed shale, or crushed rock (mostly used in Australia and New Zealand). Competitors use this surface to slide their machines sideways, powersliding or broadsiding into the bends. On the straight sections of the track, the motorcycles reach speeds of up to .
