Deportivo Pioneros de Cancún F.C. is a football team based in Cancún, México that plays in the Liga Premier Serie B. History The club was founded on May 3, 1984, and in the same year joined the Tercera División de México. It won its first cup after defeating Los Conejos, at the Estadio Víctor Manuel Reyna in the city of Tuxtla Gutiérrez, Chiapas. The following year, the club finished in third place and played in a promotional playoff with the Lobos and Aguilas B clubs. As a result, the club was promoted to the Segunda B. Still, the owner decided to purchase a franchise in the Segunda A, which allowed the club the chance to be promoted to the Primera División de México. When playing in the Segunda A, the club failed its attempts to be promoted, and in the early 1990s, the city reduced resources, and the club once again fell into the lower divisions. The Estadio Olímpico Andrés Quintana Roo is a 18,844 seat stadium in Cancún, Quintana Roo, Mexico. It is the home field of Expansión MX’s Cancún F.C., and was formerly the home field of Ascenso MX's Atlante F.C. The stadium was inaugurated on August 11, 2007, in a game against Universidad Nacional. Atlante F.C. won in this stadium their 3rd league title in Apertura 2007 against Universidad Nacional. The Houston Dynamo became the first Major League Soccer team to play in the stadium on March 3, 2009, when the club were defeated by Atlante in the second leg of the CONCACAF Champions League quarterfinals. Estadio Cancun 86 is a stadium in Cancún, Quintana Roo, Mexico. It is primarily used for association football and is the home field of Pioneros de Cancún. The stadium holds 6,390 people and is located at Prolongacion Av. Tulum Super Manzana 89. Events held at the stadium include the 2005 Mexican National Olympics. The Serie A has 33 teams (1 Liga MX Reserve Team, 3 Liga de Expansión MX Reserve Teams and 29 Serie A Teams) divided into two groups. Guerreros Acapulco
Guerreros de Acapulco were a Mexican football club that played in the Segunda División Profesional. The club was based in Acapulco de Juarez, Guerrero. History In 1987, Guerreros de Acapulco purchased the franchise from Iguala FC, permitting them to play in the third-tier Segunda División 'B' for the 1987–88 season. In 1990, they achieved promotion to Segunda División 'A' as runners-up in the championship phase. They only lasted one year in the second tier before being relegated.
