Morzine
Morzine (; frp, Morzena) is a commune in the Haute-Savoie department and Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region of south-eastern France. A traditional market town in the heart of the Portes du Soleil, Morzine is dominated by chalets spread across a river gorge, bordered by partially wooded slopes allowing skiing in poor weather conditions. The are a French ice hockey team based in Chamonix, Haute-Savoie. They play in the country's top tier, the Ligue Magnus. For their inaugural 2016–17 season, they were known as Pionniers de Chamonix-Morzine. History Origins In 2016, France's Ligue Magnus adopted an expanded schedule and cut its number of teams from 14 to 12. The league's two Haute-Savoie clubs, the Chamois de Chamonix and the Pingouins de Morzine-Avoriaz, decided to merge their respective professional teams in order to better face the economic and competitive challenges presented by the new setup. Toni Kluuskeri (born April 7, 1991) is a Finnish former professional ice hockey forward. He last played for the Jokers de Cergy-Pontoise of the French Ligue Magnus. Kluuskeri began his playing career with TPS, playing nine games during the 2010–11 SM-liiga season where he registered one assist. He spent the following season with Lukko's U20 junior team but never played a game for their senior side. FFHG Division 1 (Fédération Française de Hockey sur Glace Division 1 or French Ice Hockey Federation Division 1) is a semi-professional ice hockey league in France. It is the second of four levels of national ice hockey in France. The teams that end at the bottom of the table get relegated to FFHG Division 2 while the top get promoted to Ligue Magnus. 2021/22 Teams FFHG Division 1 consists of 14 teams. Season During the regular season, each team plays each of the other teams twice: once at home and once away (26 games).
