Pingdingshan No.1 High School is a high school in Weidong District Weidong District () is a district of the city of Pingdingshan, Henan province, China. It was founded in 1961 and was one of the first Provincial Model High Schools in Henan. Because running the repeat classes which is forbidden by the Education Department of Henan, the Provincial Model High School title was canceled in 2010. Now, Pingdingshan No.1 High School is the only one in Pingsingshan which has the privilege to enroll "Hongzhi" students from all over the province. As of 2016, it enrolled 4,200 students, had 252 teachers and 66 classes. The educational concept is "Quality first, all-round development". Pingdingshan
Pingdingshan (), also known as Eagle City ( zh, s=鹰城, p=Yīngchéng, t=鷹城), is a prefecture-level city in central Henan province, China. It had 4,904,701 inhabitants at the 2010 census whom 1,756,333 lived in the built-up (or metro) area including Ye county being conurbated. History In Chinese, Pingdingshan means “mountain with a flat top”. The city is named after a nearby plateau, the top of which is very flat. The reason for the nickname of the city "Eagle City" can be traced back to two thousand years ago during the "Spring and Autumn Annals". There was a small country royal named Ying who lived in Pingdingshan area. In ancient times, the word "Ying" had the same pronunciation as Eagle in Chinese, therefore people also called Pingdingshan "Eagle City". Pingdingshan was established as a prefecture-level city in 1957. Henan

Qigong (artist)
Qigong (, courtesy name Yuanbai , alternatively Qi Gong) (July 26, 1912 – June 30, 2005) was a renowned Chinese calligrapher, artist, painter, connoisseur and sinologist. He was an advisor for the September 3 Society, one of China's recognized political parties. Qigong was born into a Manchu family in Beijing in 1912. Both his great-grandfather and grandfather were ''Jinshi'', the highest Chinese academic title roughly equivalent to a doctoral. He was a descendant of the Yongzheng Emperor through his son Hongzhou, and therefore a member of the Aisin Gioro imperial clan. Upon coming to prominence, he declined to use both the Manchu "Aisin Gioro" or sinicized Jin surname, and went by the legal surname of "Qi" to establish a name for himself removed from that of the Imperial family. Name and ancestry Qi belonged to the Aisin Gioro clan, the Manchu rulers of the Qing dynasty in China.
