Adriano Faria Pimenta (born 14 November 1982 in Goiânia) is a Brazilian association football, footballer who currently plays for Rio Branco Esporte Clube, Rio Branco. Club career The offensively-minded midfielder started his career in the youth squad of Guarani FC. Before the 2000/01 season Adriano transferred to the Japanese club Nagoya Grampus, Nagoya Grampus Eight. After one season in Japan he returned to Guarani FC, but continued to play only a substitute role. He therefore transferred before the 2005/06 season to the Swiss Super League club FC Thun and signed a contract through June 2008. In Thun he immediately established himself in the starting squad and became a regular for the club. He plays in the role of midfield play maker. Emanuel Eduardo Pimenta Vieira da Silva, GOIH (born 4 December 1985), is a Portuguese sprint canoer. He was born in Braga. A finalist at the 2004 Olympics and medalist at the 2012 Olympics, he is Portugal's most successful kayak sprinter since the 1980s. Despite training with very limited resources, Silva became outright Portuguese individual champion over three distances (500 m, 1000 m and 10,000 m) at the age of just sixteen. In 2003 he starred at the world junior championships in Komatsu, Japan, winning the K1 500 m gold medal and silver in the K1 1000 m. He then competed in his first senior world championships, in Gainesville, USA, placing a highly-creditable sixteenth in the K-1 1000 m. Euclides Rodriguez Pimenta Da Cunha
Euclides da Cunha (, January 20, 1866 – August 15, 1909) was a Brazilian journalist, sociologist and engineer. His most important work is '' Os Sertões'' (''Rebellion in the Backlands''), a non-fictional account of the military expeditions promoted by the Brazilian government against the rebellious village of Canudos, known as the War of Canudos. This book was a favorite of Robert Lowell, who ranked it above Tolstoy. Jorge Luis Borges also commented on it in his short story " Three Versions of Judas". The book was translated into English by Samuel Putnam and published by the University of Chicago Press in 1944. It remains in print. He was heavily influenced by Naturalism and its Darwinian proponents. '' Os Sertões'' characterised the coast of Brazil as a chain of civilisations while the interior remained more primitive. Fernando Ismael Fernandes Pimenta (, born 13 August 1989) is a Portuguese sprint canoeist who has won multiple medals at the Olympic Games, World and European championships. At club level, he represents Benfica. Career Pimenta has competed since the late 2000s. His first major result came at the 2010 World Championships in Poznań, Poland, when he won the K-2 500 metres silver medal together with João Ribeiro. One year later, he contributed to the Portuguese K-4 1000 metres gold medal at the European Championships in Belgrade, Serbia, and claimed a bronze in the K-1 1000 metres. Joaquim Pereira Pimenta de Castro, 10th Count of Pimenta de Castro (5 November 1846, in Pias, Monção – 14 May 1918, in Lisbon; ) was a Portuguese army officer and politician.
