Günter Pilz (born 1945 in Bad Hall, Upper Austria) is Professor of Mathematics at the Johannes Kepler University (JKU) Linz. Until his retirement in 2013 he was the head of the Institute of Algebra. Wendy Piltz (born 24 August 1956) is a former Australian cricketer who played as a right-arm medium bowler. She appeared in one Test match and three One Day Internationals for Australia in 1984, all against India. She played domestic cricket for South Australia. After her cricket career, she became a physical education educator and author. Sporting career Piltz represented Australia and South Australia in Lacrosse and Cricket during the 1980s and 1990s as well as district representation in Basketball and Netball. Piltz's international cricket career included one Test and three ODIs for Australia in a tour of India in 1984 as well as being a state representative during the 1980s. Peter Pilz (born 22 January 1954) is an Austrian politician ( JETZT). From 1986 to 2017, he was a member of the Austrian Green Party. Political career Born in Kapfenberg, Styria, Pilz has been a member of the Austrian Parliament (''Nationalrat'') between 1986 and 1991 and since 1999. From 1992 to 1994 he also was federal spokesperson of the Greens. His main area of interest is legal matters and political corruption. Commonly known wearing a black jacket and a red, grey or green T-shirt, he was the first Austrian politician to keep a blog on the Internet. In January 2005, Pilz made international news when he called for Arnold Schwarzenegger to be stripped of his Austrian citizenship. Otto Piltz (28 June 1846, Allstedt - 20 August 1910, Pasing) was a German genre painter and illustrator for ''Die Gartenlaube''. Life He was the son of a soap-maker. After an apprenticeship as a decorative painter in Halle, he studied at the Weimar Saxon-Grand Ducal Art School from 1866 to 1871. His teachers were Paul Thumann, Bernhard Plockhorst and Charles Verlat. During the 1870s, he worked at the artists' colonies in Kleinsassen and Willingshausen. He lived in Weimar until 1886, Berlin until 1889, then in Pasing until his death. In 1882, he was appointed a Professor by Grand Duke Charles Alexander. He became a member of the Munich Secession in 1893. He painted both urban and rural scenes but was especially successful at painting children. He also travelled throughout Thuringia, Hesse, Bavaria and the Tyrol, documenting the local costumes that were already beginning to disappear. Michel Pilz (born October 28, 1945, Bad Neustadt) is a German jazz clarinetist. Pilz was a student in clarinet at the Luxembourg Conservatory in the mid-1960s, then joined Manfred Schoof's ensemble in 1968, an association he would maintain into the 1980s. He also performed with the German All Stars in the 1970s and with the Globe Unity Orchestra, led by Alex Schlippenbach. He founded his own ensemble in 1972, playing with, among others, Peter Kowald, Paul Lovens, Buschi Niebergall, and Itaru Oki was a Japanese jazz trumpeter and flugelhornist. Oki was born in Kobe. Jessica Pilz (born 22 November 1996) is an Austrian professional rock climber. She started competing in 2010, both in lead climbing and bouldering. From 2011 to 2015, she won six international youth competitions in lead climbing. In 2014, she also won both the European Youth Cup and Youth Championships in bouldering. In 2017 she won the Winter Military World Games both in lead climbing and bouldering. In 2018, she won the Lead Climbing World Championships in Innsbruck, by climbing the route a few seconds faster than the former World Champion, Janja Garnbret. She rarely climbs outdoor, but she does it with gratifying results. In January 2016, during a short trip to Oliana (Spain), she was able to redpoint two routes. Hans-Uwe Pilz (born 10 November 1958) is a German former footballer. He began his career with BSG Sachsenring Zwickau before joining Dynamo Dresden during the winter break of the 1981–82 season. He remained at Dynamo until German reunification when he moved west, following teammates Matthias Döschner and Andreas Trautmann to Fortuna Köln. However, he returned to Dynamo after a few months, and would play for the club until 1995, including four years in the Bundesliga.
