Pilat Regional Natural Park
Pilat Regional Natural Park (French language, French: ''Parc naturel régional du Pilat'') is a protected area of mountainous countryside in the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes Regions of France, region of southeastern France. The park spans the Departments of France, departments of Loire (department), Loire and Rhône (department), Rhône, and covers a total area of . The mountain terrain ranges from to in elevation. Forty-seven Communes of France, communes dot the landscape, with approximately fifty thousand residents. The land was officially designated a regional natural park in 1974. Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes
Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes (ARA; ; frp, Ôvèrgne-Rôno-Ârpes; oc, Auvèrnhe Ròse Aups; it, Alvernia-Rodano-Alpi) is a region in southeast-central France created by the 2014 territorial reform of French regions; it resulted from the merger of Auvergne and Rhône-Alpes. The new region came into effect on 1 January 2016, after the regional elections in December 2015. The region covers an area of , making it the third largest in metropolitan France; it had a population of 7,994,459 in 2018, second to ÃŽle-de-France. Chuyer
Chuyer () is a commune in the Loire department in central France. It is a relatively small village outside Pelussin (7 km away) in the Mont Pilat national park. Population Facilities Though small, there are some business's in the village including a restaurant, and bread vending machine (filled up every morning by the bakery in Pelussin) and also 200 meters from the center is the Gite de la croix du Berthoud which has views over the valley. It is situated on the right bank of the Rhône, some south of Vienne and 44 km south of Lyon, at the foot of the lower slopes of the Mont Monnet.
