Pike Rovers F.C.
Pike Rovers F.C. is an Irish association football club based in Southill, Limerick. The club plays at Crossagalla and their senior men's team competes in the Limerick & District League. They have previously played in the Munster Senior League. During their history Pike Rovers have also entered teams in the FAI Cup, the FAI Intermediate Cup, the FAI Junior Cup and the FAI Youth Cup. They have been finalists in the latter three cup competitions. History Pike Rovers F.C. was founded in 1938 in the Mulgrave Street/Blackboy Pike district of Limerick. The club colours are a variation of green and white hooped shirts, green or white shorts and green/white socks and were initially inspired by the colours of Celtic F.C. In 1949–50 they became the first association football club from County Limerick to win a national trophy when they won the FAI Youth Cup. Munster Senior League Senior Premier Division
The Munster Senior League Senior Premier Division is the top division of the Munster Senior League. It is organized by the Munster Football Association. Together with the Leinster Senior League Senior Division and the Ulster Senior League Senior Division, it forms the third level of the Republic of Ireland football league system. Clubs from this division play in the Munster Senior Cup, the FAI Cup, and the FAI Intermediate Cup. In recent seasons the winners of the Senior Division have also been invited to play in the League of Ireland Cup. Shadrach Nosa Ogie (born 26 August 2001) is an Irish professional footballer who plays as a defender for Gillingham. Club career Leyton Orient Born in Limerick, Republic of Ireland, Ogie played youth football for local club Pike Rovers. Upon moving to England, Ogie played football in Hornchurch's youth academy, before joining Leyton Orient in 2018. On 1 February 2019, after receiving international clearance from FIFA allowing him to play competitive football, Ogie signed a professional contract with Leyton Orient. The following day, Ogie made his debut for the club, playing 39 minutes in a 1–0 FA Trophy win against Blyth Spartans. In March 2019, Ogie was loaned out to Isthmian League club Bishop's Stortford, making seven appearances and scoring once. Joe Waters
Joseph Waters (born 20 September 1953) is an Irish former professional association football, footballer who played in England and the United States. He lives in the United States where he coaches Tacoma Stars of PASL and youth soccer teams. Player Club Waters grew up in Limerick, Ireland where he was an outstanding athlete with the Limerick Athletic Club. He played gaelic football with the Old Christians GAA Club and hurling with CBS Sexton Street. He began his soccer career with thWembley Rovers and briefly played for Pike Rovers F.C., Pike Rovers before returning to Wembley. In April 1969, he joined Leicester City F.C. In December 1973, he signed a professional contract with Leicester City, but had difficulty cracking the first team. Tim Cuneen
Tim Cuneen (1 February 1924 – 31 March 2011) was an Irish former footballer who played as a midfielder. He made his only appearance for the Republic of Ireland national team on 16 November 1952, in a 3–2 win over Norway at the Ullevaal Stadion in Oslo. He was substituted before half time with injury in the game and his replacement Paddy Coad scored, becoming the first ever substitute to score for Ireland. Before he had celebrated his 15th birthday, Cuneen had turned out for his local League of Ireland club Limerick F.C. The Limerick & District League is an association football league featuring amateur and junior clubs from Limerick, Limerick city and County Limerick east of the N20 road (Ireland), N20. It also includes teams from Charleville, County Cork, (Charleville AFC) and Nenagh, County Tipperary, (Nenagh AFC). The league consists of twelve divisions. Its top division, the Premier League, is a seventh level division in the Republic of Ireland football league system. The season runs from August to May.
