History Pigeon Township was created out of Owen Township in September 1849. The township derives its name from the Little Pigeon River. The Warrick County School Corporation (WCSC) is the second largest public school-governing body in Southwestern Indiana and the 27th largest in Indiana.http://mustang.doe.state.in.us/TRENDS/top10.cfm It is responsible for providing education to the second largest county in the area, Warrick County, Indiana.
