Logo Metropolitane Italia
A logo (abbreviation of logotype; ) is a graphic mark, emblem, or symbol used to aid and promote public identification and recognition. It may be of an abstract or figurative design or include the text of the name it represents as in a wordmark. In the days of hot metal typesetting, a logotype was one word cast as a single piece of type (e.g. "The" in ATF Garamond), as opposed to a Typographic ligature, ligature, which is two or more letters joined, but not forming a word. By extension, the term was also used for a uniquely set and arranged typeface or colophon (publishing), colophon. At the level of mass communication and in common usage, a company's logo is today often synonymous with its trademark or brand.Wheeler, Alina. ''Designing Brand Identity'' © 2006 John Wiley & Sons, Inc. (page 4) Etymology Online Etymology Dictionary, Douglas Harper's Online Etymology Dictionary states that the term 'logo' used in 1937 "probably a shortening of logogram". History Numerous inv ...

Pietralata Quarter
Pietralata is the 21st '' quartiere'' of Rome, identified by the initials Q. XXI, and belongs to the Municipio IV. Its name comes from the Latin ''Prata Lata'' meaning large fields, which is possibly a reference to the large amount of nature and vegetation present. The borough of Pietralata belonged to the ''Suburbio'' Nomentano (S. II) until 1961, when it became the 21st quarter of the city. History Pietralata was a conspicuous estate of the Agro Romano, with an extension of about 2,150 hectares, stretching from Via Tiburtina to Via Nomentana: the estate included the Sant'Agnese valley, outside Porta Nomentana, and the Portonaccio hills, reaching the river Aniene and the Casal de' Pazzi farmstead, and also including the castle of Pietralata, built on the ruins of an ancient Roman villa. From the name of the estate derived the name of the family that owned it, whose most prominent members were Orazio di Pietralata, who lived at the beginning of the 16th century, and Giovan ...

Autostrada A24 (Italy)
The Autostrada A24, or Autostrada dei Parchi (“Parks Motorway”), is a autostrade of Italy, motorway connecting Rome to Teramo. Starting at the Grande Raccordo Anulare (GRA - the Rome orbital motorway), the A24 runs broadly north-east past L'Aquila and through a 10 km Traforo del Gran Sasso, tunnel under the Gran Sasso before reaching Teramo. It is constructed in an almost completely hilly and mountainous territory with a complex orography. For this reason, the motorway required the adoption of daring civil engineering solutions, with extensive stretches utilising viaducts and 42 tunnels (four of which are longer than 4 km) including the double tunnel of the Gran Sasso, whose length (10.174 km for the northern tunnel, 10.175 km the southern) made it the longest double-tube road tunnel in Europe, as well as the longest road tunnel in Italy entirely in the national territory. First planned in 1973 to connect Lazio and Abruzzo as well as the Autostrada del Sol ...

Quintiliani (Rome Metro)
Quintiliani is a station on Line B of the Rome Metro. It is located on Via della Pietra Sanguigna and takes its name from the ancient Casale dei Quintiliani, which stood near the station. Other nearby streets are Via delle Cave di Pietralata and Via del Casale Quintiliani. Nearby is the Ospedale Sandro Pertini. History Prior to opening, the station was going to be called ''Pietralata'' (with the present Pietralata station to be called Feronia), but it was decided that this could cause confusion and in 1990 it was decided to change the station's name to its present one. It now stands in open countryside but was planned to serve the new Sistema Direzionale Orientale (SDO), which was to be sited in precisely the same area, with an interchange onto a planned 'line D' from Monte Sacro __NoToC__ The Mons Sacer, Sacer Mons, or Sacred Mount is a hill in Rome, famed as the location of the first secession of the plebs, in 494 BC.''Dictionary of Greek and Roman Geography'', vol. Railway Stations Opened In 1990
Rail transport (also known as train transport) is a means of transport that transfers passengers and goods on wheeled vehicles running on rails, which are incorporated in tracks. In contrast to road transport, where the vehicles run on a prepared flat surface, rail vehicles (rolling stock) are directionally guided by the tracks on which they run. Tracks usually consist of steel rails, installed on sleepers (ties) set in ballast, on which the rolling stock, usually fitted with metal wheels, moves. Other variations are also possible, such as "slab track", in which the rails are fastened to a concrete foundation resting on a prepared subsurface. Rolling stock in a rail transport system generally encounters lower frictional resistance than rubber-tyred road vehicles, so passenger and freight cars (carriages and wagons) can be coupled into longer trains. The operation is carried out by a railway company, providing transport between train stations or freight customer facil ...
