Piet Bukman
Pieter Bukman (7 February 1934 – 15 March 2022) was a Dutch politician and diplomat of the Christian Democratic Appeal (CDA) party and economist. Biography Bukman attended a Gymnasium in Delft from April 1946 until June 1952 and applied at the Free University Amsterdam in July 1952 majoring in Economics obtaining a Bachelor of Economics degree in June 1954 before obtaining a Master of Economics degree in July 1958. Bukman worked as a trade association executive for the Christian Farmers and Gardeners Association (CBTB) from August 1958 until December 1980 and served as General-Secretary from May 1968 until September 1975 and as Chairman from September 1975 until December 1980. Bukman served as Chairman of the Christian Democratic Appeal from 11 October 1980 until 14 July 1986. Excellency
Excellency is an honorific style given to certain high-level officers of a sovereign state, officials of an international organization, or members of an aristocracy. Once entitled to the title "Excellency", the holder usually retains the right to that courtesy throughout their lifetime, although in some cases the title is attached to a particular office, and is held only for the duration of that office. Generally people addressed as ''Excellency'' are heads of state, heads of government, governors, ambassadors, Roman Catholic bishops and high-ranking ecclesiastics and others holding equivalent rank (e.g., heads of international organizations). Jan Pronk
Johannes Pieter "Jan" Pronk Jr. (; born 16 March 1940) is a retired Dutch politician and diplomat of the Labour Party (PvdA) and activist. Pronk studied Economics at the Rotterdam School of Economics obtaining a Master of Economics degree and worked as a researcher at his alma mater and the Economics Institute from July 1960 until May 1971 and was also was active as a political activist in the New Left movement. After the election of 1971 Pronk was elected as a Member of the House of Representatives on 11 May 1971 and served as a frontbencher and spokesperson for Development Cooperation. Pronk was also selected as a Member of the European Parliament on 13 March 1973 and dual served in both positions. After the election of 1972 Pronk was appointed as Minister for Development Cooperation in the Cabinet Den Uyl taking office on 11 May 1973. Anti-Revolutionary Party
The Anti-Revolutionary Party ( nl, Anti-Revolutionaire Partij, ARP) was a Protestant conservative and Christian democratic political party in the Netherlands. The party was founded in 1879 by Abraham Kuyper, a neo-Calvinist theologian and minister. Voorschoten () is a village and municipality in the western Netherlands, in the province of South Holland. Petrus Antonius Josephus Maria "Piet" Steenkamp (8 March 1925 – 8 January 2016) was a Dutch politician of the Christian Democratic Appeal (CDA) party. From 1949 to 1954, Steenkamp was a business economics employee in his father's factory, the N.V. Uithoornse Bacon and Conservenfabriek "De Hoorn". He was then a member of the Board of Directors of this company until September 1, 1966. He introduced the distribution of profits and employee participation in the plant. He played an important role in the formation of the party and is therefore referred to as the father of the CDA. He was president of the Dutch Senate from 1983 to 1991. Senate (Netherlands)
The Senate ( or simply ' , literally "First Chamber of the States General", or sometimes ' ) is the upper house of the States General, the legislature of the Netherlands. Its 75 members are elected on lists by the members of the twelve States-Provincial and four electoral colleges for the Senate every four years, within three months of the provincial elections. All provinces and colleges have different electoral weight depending on their population. Members of the Senate tend to be veteran or part-time politicians at the national level, often having other roles.
