Pierre Senska
Pierre Senska (born 21 June 1988) is a disabled German Para-cyclist. Career He won the Para-Cycling World Championships road race in the LC 4 category in Bordeaux in 2007. He received an award for Junior Sportsman of the Year from the German Sports Aid Foundation in November 2007. He took part in the Men's LC4 3 km individual pursuit event at the 2008 Summer Paralympics The 2008 Summer Paralympic Games (), the 13th Summer Paralympic Games, took place in Beijing, China from September 6 to 17, 2008. Para-cycling (or Paracycling) is the sport of cycling adapted for cyclists who have various disabilities. It is governed by the Union Cycliste Internationale (UCI). The sport consists of seven different events which include road and track races. The world's elite para-cyclists compete at Track and Road Worlds Championships (since 1994), the Commonwealth Games, the Paralympic Games and the World Cup (since 2010). History Para-cycling originated in the 1980s, starting with visually impaired riders who competed on a tandem with a sighted partner. C1 is a para-cycling classification. recommends this be coded as MC1 or WC1. Definition PBS defined this classification as "Cyclists with upper or lower limb disabilities and most severe neurological disfunction." 2023 UCI Para-cycling Track World Championships
The 2023 UCI Para-cycling Track World Championships were held from 2 to 8 August 2023, at the Sir Chris Hoy Velodrome in Glasgow, United Kingdom. It was held as part of the inaugural UCI Cycling World Championships. The event was held as part of an integrated programme with the 2023 UCI Track Cycling World Championships, which began, and will end, a day later. Results Men Women Mixed Medal table The event was dominated by the hosts, Great Britain who won 18 gold medals, and 30 medals in total. Their success was founded on dominance of both the men's sprint time trial events and the tandem events for blind cyclists.
