Pierluigi Pizzaballa
Pierluigi Pizzaballa (; born 14 September 1939) is a retired Italian footballer who played as a goalkeeper. Club career Pizzaballa started his club career with Atalanta B.C., where he became one of the Serie A's top Italian goalkeepers, before moving to A.S. Roma in 1966. He subsequently played for Hellas Verona F.C. and A.C. Milan, and he finished his career back at Atalanta, earning 275 appearances in Serie A. In his career he won 4 Coppa Italia trophies (one with Atalanta, one with Roma, and two with Milan), a Serie B title with Atalanta, and a European Cup Winners' Cup with Milan. International career Pizzaballa earned one cap for the Italy national football team on 18 June 1966, coming on as a substitute against Austria, and was in the Italian squad at the 1966 FIFA World Cup, although he did not play a match in the competition, as he was a backup to Enrico Albertosi. Lorenzo Buffon
Lorenzo Buffon (, ; born 19 December 1929) is an Italian former footballer who played as a goalkeeper. Throughout his career, he played 277 times for Italian club A.C. Milan, and also later played for their city rivals Inter Milan, as well as other Italian clubs, winning five Serie A titles. At the international level, he was capped for the Italian international side on 15 occasions, representing his country at the 1962 FIFA World Cup. 1973 UEFA Cup Winners' Cup Final
The 1973 European Cup Winners' Cup Final was the final football match of the 1972–73 European Cup Winners' Cup and the 13th European Cup Winners' Cup final. It was contested between Milan of Italy and Leeds United of England, and was held at Kaftanzoglio Stadium in Thessaloniki, Greece. Milan won the match 1–0 thanks to a goal by Luciano Chiarugi. The Greek crowd at the final reacted to perceived bias towards Milan by referee Christos Michas by throwing missiles during the victors' lap of honour, but despite protests, the result was not overturned. UEFA later banned Michas for life due to match fixing, although his role in this match was not investigated. Leeds, who perceived referee Christos Michas to have made a number of unfair decisions, attempted to gain a replay but UEFA denied the request. UEFA Cup Winners' Cup
The UEFA Cup Winners' Cup was a European football club competition contested annually by the winners of domestic cup competitions. The cup was, chronologically, the second seasonal inter-European club competition organised by UEFA. The tournament ran for 39 seasons, with the final edition held in 1998–99, after which it was discontinued. The first tournament was held in 1960–61, but it was organised by the Mitropa Cup's Organising Committee and not recognised by the governing body of European football until 1963, when it was accepted as a UEFA competition on the initiative of the Italian Football Federation (FIGC). From 1972 onwards, the winner of the tournament progressed to play the winner of the European Cup (later the UEFA Champions League) in the European Super Cup. Dino Zoff (; born 28 February 1942) is an Italian former professional footballer who played as a goalkeeper. He is the oldest ever winner of the World Cup, which he earned as captain of the Italian national team in the 1982 tournament, at the age of 40 years, 4 months and 13 days. He also won the award for best goalkeeper of the tournament and was elected to the team of the tournament for his performances, keeping two clean-sheets, an honour he also received after winning the 1968 European Championship on home soil. Giuliano Sarti (; 2 October 1933 – 5 June 2017) was an Italian professional football player, who played in the position of goalkeeper. Throughout his successful career, he played for several Italian clubs, although he is mostly remembered for his success with Fiorentina, and as the goalkeeper of the "Grande Inter" side of the 1960s that conquered both Italy and Europe.
