''Pieces'' ( es, Mil gritos tiene la noche, lit=The Night Has 1,000 Screams) is a 1982 slasher film directed by Juan Piquer Simón, written and produced by Dick Randall, and starring Christopher George, Lynda Day George, Frank Braña, Edmund Purdom, Paul L. Smith, Ian Sera, and Jack Taylor. The plot follows an unknown assailant killing female students at a college campus in Boston, who uses their body parts to make a human jigsaw puzzle. A co-production of Spain and the United States, ''Pieces'' was originally released in Spain in August 1982, and was distributed in the United States by Film Ventures International. Since its release, the film has attracted a cult following and has been a drive-in favorite. While not prosecuted for obscenity, the film was seized and confiscated in the UK under Section 3 of the Obscene Publications Act 1959 during the video nasty controversy. Juan Piquer Simón
Juan Piquer Simón (16 February, 1935 – 8 January, 2011) was a Spanish film director best known for directing two cult classic horror film, horror exploitation film, exploitation films, ''Pieces (1982 film), Pieces'' (1982) and ''Slugs (1988 film), Slugs: The Movie'' (1988). Career He also directed two Jules Verne-based films, ''Where Time Began'' (1976) and ''Mystery on Monster Island'' (1981), as well as ''Supersonic Man'' in 1979 (which was spoofed by RiffTrax), and ''The Pod People'' in 1983 (which was famously featured on an episode of ''Mystery Science Theater 3000''). Hacksaw
A hacksaw is a fine-toothed saw, originally and mainly made for cutting metal. The equivalent saw for cutting wood is usually called a bow saw.
