Piatnistky Folk Choir
The Pyatnitsky Russian Folk Chorus (russian: Государственный академический русский народный хор им. М. Е. Пятницкого) is a Russian musical group which was established by Mitrofan Pyatnitsky in 1910 initially with 18 peasants from Voronezh, Ryazan and Smolensk gubernias. The peasant chorus held its first performance at the Small hall of the Moscow Nobility Club (later the October Hall of the House of Trade Unions) on March 2, 1911. Pyatnitsky focused on traditional Russian song. The performers sang, enacted dance scenes and played folk instruments. One of the first renowned soloists in the chorus was Arina Kolobayeva. In its early years the chorus received high praise from Russian musicians Sergei Rachmaninov and Fyodor Chaliapin. In 1918, the chorus transferred its base to Moscow. Russian folk music specifically deals with the folk music traditions of the ethnic Russian people. Ethnic styles in the modern era The performance and promulgation of ethnic music in Russia has a long tradition. Alexander Yakovlevich Rosenbaum PAR (russian: link=no, Александр Яковлевич Розенбаум, ''Aleksandr Jakovlevič Rozenbaum'') (born September 13, 1951) is a Russian bard from Saint Petersburg. Graduated from the First Pavlov State Medical University of St. Peterburg in 1974, Rosenbaum worked in the medical field for four years. Vladimir Grigorievich Zakharov
Vladimir Grigoryevich Zakharov (; October 18, 1901 – July 13, 1956), was a Soviet and Russian composer and choir conductor. He was born near Donetsk in the present-day Ukraine. From 1912 to 1921 he lived in the city of Taganrog, where he studied at the Boys Gymnasium and attended music classes by Valerian Molla at the Taganrog School for Music. He graduated from the Rostov Conservatory in 1927. His long-term connection with the Pyatnitsky Choir (since 1932) gave him many chances composing choral music. Most of his songs are in peasant way. Even sometime later, no one can tell whether one of his famous song was a composition or an arrangement of a folk piece. In the 1920s, he and other composers formed the Russian Association of Proletarian Musicians (RAPM) and became an active member of this association.
