Piabanha River
The Piabanha River ( pt, Rio Piabanha) is a river of Rio de Janeiro state in southeastern Brazil. It is a tributary of the Paraíba do Sul. Basin The basin of the Piabanha River includes the basins of the upper Piabanha, Preto, Fagundes and Paquequer rivers. It fully drains the municipalities of Teresópolis, Carmo, Sapucaia, Sumidouro, Areal and São José do Vale do Rio Preto, and partially drains the municipalities of Petrópolis, Paty do Alferes, Paraíba do Sul, Duas Barras and Três Rios. The headwaters of the river are protected by the Três Picos State Park, Serra dos Órgãos National Park, Petrópolis Municipal Nature Park, Montanhas de Teresópolis Municipal Nature Park, Araras State Biological Reserve and Araponga Municipal Nature Park among others. Paraíba Do Sul
The Paraíba do Sul (), or simply termed Paraíba, is a river in southeast Brazil. It flows west to northeast from its farthest source at the source of the river Paraitinga to the sea near Campos dos Goytacazes. The river receives its name when it meets the river Paraibuna at the Paraibuna dam. Its main tributaries are the rivers Jaguari, Buquira, Paraibuna, Preto, Pomba and Muriaé. These last two are the longest and join the main river and from the mouth respectively . The valley of the Paraíba do Sul ranges from the latitudes 20°26' and 23°39'S and the longitudes of 41° and 46°30'W and covers an area of about distributed over three states. Araras State Biological Reserve ( pt, Reserva Biológica de Araras) is a biological reserve in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. Location The reserve is located in the mountainous Serra do Mar region in the Atlantic Forest biosphere and includes dense submontane tropical rain forest, montane and higher montane forest and alpine pastures. It mostly lies within the municipality of Petrópolis, with a small part in the municipality of Miguel Pereira. The Três Picos State Park ( pt, Parque Estadual dos Três Picos) is a state park in the state of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. It preserves a large, mountainous region of Atlantic Forest.
