Jomtien Beach
Jomtien ( th, จอมเทียน, , ) or Jomtien Beach (, , ) is a town on the east coast of the Gulf of Thailand about 165 km south-east of Bangkok in Chonburi Province. It is about 3 km south of Pattaya and is home to high-rise condominiums, beach side hotels, beaches, and restaurants. Bang Lamung District
Bang Lamung ( th, บางละมุง, ) is a district (''amphoe'') in the southern part of Chonburi province, Thailand. History ''Mueang'' Bang Lamung was formerly in Ban Bang Lamung, Tambon Bang Lamung. However, the government downgraded Bang Lamung to a district, with the district office on the banks of Khlong Nok Yang. In 1909, the district head, ''Phraya'' Sattaya Nukun (Choem), moved the district office to the seacoast in Tambon Na Kluea. On 21 October 1952 the district office was completely destroyed by a storm. The office set up temporarily in Bang Lamung School, Sukhumvit Road. The following year the Thai government approved building a new district office near the school. It is still in use today. Abhakara Kiartivongse monument — Bronze statue of Admiral of the Royal Thai Navy Abhakara Kiartivongse - Prince of Chumphon, mounted on a stone pedestal on the high natural Pratumnak hill in Pattaya, 98 meters above sea level. Description and location The monument is one of more than 200 monuments to Admiral Prince Kiartivongse throughout the country, but the most famous among all. This is due to the fact that Thailand's main naval base, Sattahip, 40 kilometers south of Pattaya, was founded by this admiral in 1922. He is known as the founder and first commander of the Royal Thai Navy.
