Phone Link
Phone Link, previously Your Phone, is a syncing software developed by Microsoft to connect Windows PCs to Android and iOS mobile devices to view notifications, make phone calls, use mobile apps amongst others, via the PC. It is a native component of Windows 10 (since version 1809) and Windows 11, where it is a UWP app and consists of a driver that communicates with the Link to Windows app on the mobile device. Phone Link makes use of Wi-Fi, Bluetooth for voice calls, or mobile data. Features Phone Link enables a PC to send (and receive) text messages relayed from the mobile device, including both SMS and MMS, as well as RCS for Samsung Phones using Samsung Messages. It can also access the 2000 most recent photos on the connected phone. Audio that is played on the phone can also be controlled on the Phone Link interface, so long as the playing apps have media controls in the Android notification area. Intel Unison
Intel Unison is a software functionality created by Intel for seamless integration between a personal computer and mobile device. Unison was announced in September 2022 and launched broadly throughout 2023 12th generation Core processors, although some Intel Evo compliant computers had a preview version of it already. The feature allows an Android or iOS device to pair with an Intel-powered PC, and be able to make and receive calls via the PC, send and receive texts, and receive and respond to notifications. My Phone
My Phone was an online service with a companion mobile client application from Microsoft. The service, which launched on October 6, 2009, provided a free mobile phone back-up solution by wirelessly synchronizing contacts, calendar appointments, tasks, text messages, browser favorites, photos, music, video and documents with a password-protected online portal where users could access and manage their information. The service also enabled photo sharing and, in some markets, a set of features for dealing with a lost phone that were sold as a Premium Package requiring a one-time fee. ActiveSync
ActiveSync is a mobile data synchronization app developed by Microsoft, originally released in 1996. It synchronizes data with handheld devices and desktop computers. Overview ActiveSync allows a mobile device to be synchronized with either a desktop PC or a server running a compatible software product. On desktops, ActiveSync synchronizes emails, calendar, contacts and tasks with Microsoft Outlook, along with Internet bookmarks and files. ActiveSync does not support all features of Outlook. For instance, contacts grouped into subfolders are not transferred. Only the contacts which are not in a subfolder are synchronized.
