Phoenix Rising (band)
Phoenix Rising (formerly known as Phoenix Rising / Fire & Ashes and, originally, as Quinta Enmienda) is a Spanish symphonic power metal band from Alcorcón, Madrid, Spain. Their music is strongly influenced by bands like Stratovarius, Rhapsody of Fire, Galneryus, and Sonata Arctica. The band was established in 2007 as "Quinta Enmienda", and they released an album, ''Ne Bis in Idem'', with that name in 2010. However, in 2012, after signing a record deal for three albums with the German label Sonic Attack, they switched their name to "Phoenix Rising". Alcorcón
Alcorcón () is a city and municipality of Spain located in the Community of Madrid. as of 2020, it had a population of 172,384. Geography The municipality, largely flat, lies at an average altitude of 711 metres above sea level, with the highest point being El Ventorro del Cano (741 m), located in the north of the municipality. History The site appears to have been inhabited since prehistoric times. The name is of Arabic origin, but little is known of Alcorcón before the Reconquista. Saratoga is a Spanish heavy metal band established in Madrid in 1992 by bassist Niko del Hierro ( Ñu, Barón Rojo) and guitarist Jero Ramiro (Santa, Ñu). Throughout its history, the band has had various lineups. Currently it consists of del Hierro, Ramiro, Tete Novoa (vocals), and Jorge "El Estepario Siberiano" Garrido (drums). Noise Records is a German heavy metal record label founded in 1983 by German music industry personality Karl-Ulrich Walterbach as an expansion of his company Modern Music Records. It was sold to the Sanctuary Records Group in 2001 and ceased any activity in 2007 due to the bankruptcy of Sanctuary. The Noise catalogue was consequently acquired by Universal Music Group later on. A demo (shortened from "demonstration") is a song or group of songs typically recorded for limited circulation or for reference use, rather than for general public release. A demo is a way for a musician to approximate their ideas in a fixed format, such as cassette tape, compact disc, or digital audio files, and to thereby pass along those ideas to record labels, producers, or other artists. Sonisphere
The Sonisphere Festival was a touring rock music festival which took place across Europe between the months of June and August. The festival was owned by John Jackson and Kilimanjaro Live. It was jointly promoted by K2 and Kilimanjaro Live. It hosted heavy metal bands such as Iron Maiden, Metallica, Mötley Crüe, Slayer, Judas Priest, Megadeth, Avenged Sevenfold and BABYMETAL (the latter group would make their UK debut at the 2014 event). The festival has not taken place in the UK since 2014. Stuart Galbraith, CEO of Kilimanjaro Live, revealed in 2018 that Sonisphere will not return to the UK, due to financial issues.
